Chapter 322 - Chapter 322

Gritting his teeth, Chase felt no time but now would be the perfect chance to turn the battle on its stomach, winning with a swift handful of moves.

The moment that Hans and Chase locked eyes from across the lower floor of Olympia, was the exact moment that they had been waiting for. Although Chase had not predicted that the Panda would arrive at such a convenient time, he didn't have the pleasure of questioning just how Hans had known that they would be in a near death scenario.

Chase felt more blood burst from his nose as he charged even more Axis energy into his lower body- launching himself into the air with several spins, maximizing his acceleration as best as he could.

Flames and embers began to shoot in every direction as he soared in like a missile towards the mother Vasehead, reaching out with his right hand as he did so.

Hans must have somehow figured out what he was attempting with just a short glance, grabbing onto the edge of the monster's skull and leaping off, while hanging on. Using all of his mass he pulled his body back towards the beast, swinging its massive head down right in front of Chase.

However, just before he fingers could meet the cold metal that was the beast's skull...

SLAM!

Chase felt the entire right side of his body collapse within a single second, and only a second after felt the air around him shrivel up, and a vacuum like feeling sent him flying at super sonic speeds towards the other side of the battlefield.

Seconds before he crashed into the wall...

THUD!

"Shit!" Leo screamed as he was able to grab Chase out of the air, with the momentum of his own launch.

They both began to roll and crash across the floor of the arena, causing two of the most capable members of Unity in the current situation to get separated once again.

Chase's back crashed against one of the pillars, with enough force to cause it to shatter, and a large fraction of it flew backwards into the other wall, shaking the entire room.

He took a shaky breath, mentally thanking Leo for stopping his inevitable evisceration.

Then he pushed with all of his might, forcing his body to stand up as the ruins continued to simmer along his fingertips.

A small part of him was extremely tempted to release the shackles on his wrist... As doing so would grant him with probably enough power to overcome this situation, and perhaps he would have if Hans hadn't arrived when he did.

But... If he needed to rely on a goddess for solving every minor encounter... What good would he be as the leader of this team...

Feeling his knees quake underneath him, he remained standing.

His chest felt heavy, and his eyes were dancing between the line of consciousness and unconsciousness, he grit his teeth and lowered his body as he entered a swift sprint.

Feeling an instantaneous buzz in the right side of his brain, he quickly rolled to the left, dodging under the smaller Vasehead's attack before it could hit him.

The air pressure was immense from the attack, but Chase had no choice but to ignore the lesser monster, and return to the important fight before Hans ran out of energy.

Sure enough he spotted the battle ahead of him, underneath the bright rays of light shining down from the crater in the ceiling that Panda had smashed through only a minute or more before.

Hans delivered a deathly uppercut, cracking the surface of the Vasehead's abdomen, and the air force from the attack caused even more of the ceiling above to crumble and quake.

Chase slid underneath falling debris, making sure to keep his fingers from touching the ground.

Then with so much axis energy, that his bones threatened shattering- he shot towards the monster with ferocious killing intent...

In a singular second, his vision blurred and returned just as he was about to shoot past the monster, but he reached outward, grabbing hold of the ridge along the top of its head, feeling a surge of energy leave his body as the ruins made contact with its metallic shell.

He felt his shoulder dislocate, but he held on, pulling and throwing himself underneath the monsters flailing arm, and at the very same time Hans delivered another blow, indenting a part of its skull.

Chase narrowly avoided his head getting crushed, and grabbed hold of the monsters shoulder- marking another ruin upon its body, then he jumped backwards and off of the monster as its own rocky fist crashed into its own shoulder.

Chase landed with a terrible unbalanced skid along the cobble covered ground.

"Where is Gideon!?" He yelled towards Hans, as he began deflecting an onslaught of enraged attacks from the monster.

While Chase caught his breath, Hans smashed one of the monster's arms into the air and yelled back with haste. "We got separated above!"

Then a rocky fist crashed into Hans's metallic purple Chestplate, sending him skidding back from the force.

Chase felt that they were running out of time, as he scanned the room for any of his allies but instantly felt dread flood his stomach as the entire room was silence and smoke.

The mother Vasehead on the other hand, only getting angrier, preparing for another frenzy of attacks on the man wearing the helmet resembling a Panda.

The two had never fought side by side together, and have only sparred a handful of times, so Chase was unfamiliar with many of the ways that the fist of Phoenix fought; however, with the state of his team being in such a negative position, there was no other way than to improvise.

He lowered his body again, feeling another surge of energy running wildly through his already weakened body.

Then with a gust of wind, shot towards the monster spiraling around it mid-air and planting his ring finger upon the back its head, meanwhile Hans ducked underneath a flying fist, and punched the rocky elbow of the beast so hard that the entire forearm of the monster began to crack.

Then just as a sliver of hope had run through his mind, Chase felt a flood of danger engulf his senses.

From behind, he felt his entire back break underneath the force of the smaller Vasehead, as a loud crack then a loud crash of his body meeting the ground echoed throughout the hall.

Hans with no other option, felt Primis energy rise throughout his body as he dodged and weaved around the attacks of now both of the bosses of this floor.

"Quake..." He whispered with a grimace...

The entire hall began to shake, and both monsters as well as Hans began to lose their balance from the terrible force of what could only be described as an artificial disaster.

The floor began to crack in every direction, almost swallowing Hans whole as the battle continued, just as he thought he had a moment to breathe, another fist came flying at him.

CLANG!

He deflected.

CRASH!

He attacked

And the same exchange repeated over and over, as the two traded an extravagant amount of blows underneath the euphoric rays of light.

Then...

Just as a hit landed on Hans, causing his body to threaten surrender...

Just as Chase's fist met the floor, pushing his body upward once again.

A cacophony of chaos ran throughout the room like flood of energy.

A pillar made of ice began to rise from thin air, pushing and pinning the smaller Vasehead into the ceiling with an earth shattering tremble of the ancient hall.

At the same exact time, a violent melody had begun to play from behind one of the many destroyed pillars.

Then just before the giant Vasehead's fist had met Hans's unwavering facial expression head on, a bolt of lightning shot between him and the monster, as what could only be described as an attempt of betrayal took place before him.

The bolt had been aimed directly at Chase's horrible state on the floor.

Hans was starstruck, unable to take into account what he had just witnessed.

'Did he miss?'

Then... The golden lightning from Equan's attack that Hans's had sworn used to be blue, continued to spark within the smoke.

Until a blood drenched Chase stepped out from it, carrying a spear made of golden energy...
