Chapter 550: Taking Action to Save Lives
The group from Blood Python City surged across the plains, kicking up clouds of dust as they drew nearer. Lin Langtian took a quick glance and estimated that there were about a hundred men in total, many exuding fierce and aggressive auras. Leading the charge were two individuals whose strength had clearly reached the initial stage of the Death Profound Realm. This indicated that Blood Python City indeed had considerable power within this region.
The cavalry stormed by swiftly, but as they approached, they clearly noticed Lin Langtian and his companions. A few eyes glinted cruelly, but sensing that Lin Langtian's group might not be easy prey, they merely examined them briefly before continuing onward.
As the riders galloped past, one among them extended his palm casually, releasing a gust of wind that seized a chunk of roasted meat from the firepit nearby. Laughing arrogantly, he tore into the meat and urged his mount forward, leaving crude laughter echoing in the air.
Xin Qing visibly relaxed as the riders rode off, breathing a sigh of relief. But before long, snippets of vulgar conversation drifted back on the wind:
"We had quite a haul this time! If those villages dare disrespect Blood Python City again, we'll massacre them all."
"Haha, indeed!"
"Didn't expect we'd capture two young Nine-tailed Fox girls as well. Such delicate beauties—I hear the women from their clan are truly exquisite. Shame we have to deliver them to the city lord. I'd rather keep them for myself!"
"You'd better forget those ideas! That kind of high-quality goods will always go to the city lord first!"
"True enough. But after he's had his fill, perhaps he'll pass them on to us for a little fun."
The laughter echoed harshly, lingering in the air long after the riders had departed. Lin Langtian narrowed his eyes dangerously, turning slowly to see Xin Qing's small face turn deathly pale.
Xin Qing stood trembling, staring blankly at the direction where the riders had vanished. Tears pooled rapidly in her large, frightened eyes, her fragile form trembling helplessly, evoking an instinctive sympathy.
Realizing something was wrong, Lin Langtian exchanged a glance with Lin Dong, both immediately understanding the situation. It seemed obvious the two captured Nine-tailed Fox girls were likely members of Xin Qing's clan.
"Brother Langtian, we…" Lin Dong hesitated slightly. Although they had just arrived and had no desire to stir up trouble, Lin Dong's heart had always been righteous. Having bonded with Xin Qing along their journey, he naturally felt compelled to help.
Lin Langtian, already knowing Lin Dong's intentions, smiled slightly and nodded. "Do as your heart dictates. Those bastards from Blood Python City really do deserve a lesson."
Lin Dong grinned broadly, pleased with Lin Langtian's immediate support. He turned towards the distant figures disappearing into the night, eyes hardening with determination.
"Lord Langtian, Lord Lin Dong, you two…" Xin Qing stammered, barely able to speak. Her anxiety for her clanswomen momentarily faded into astonishment as she caught on to their intentions.
"Xin Qing," Lin Langtian smiled reassuringly, "you're our friend. If you ever need help, just ask. Don't treat us as outsiders."
Xin Qing stared at Lin Langtian's radiant smile, biting her lip to keep from crying as her eyes welled up even further.
"You really are a crybaby," Lin Langtian joked gently, reaching out to wipe away a tear from Xin Qing's face. He exchanged a glance with Lin Dong, then calmly turned towards the distant riders, eyes sharpening with cold intent.

On the wide road, the menacing Blood Python City troop was galloping forward when their leader suddenly raised a hand, bringing his horse to an abrupt stop. Confused, the others looked up to find three figures had mysteriously appeared under a large tree ahead.
In the moonlight stood two confident young men accompanied by a slender girl.
The Blood Python City leader, Lei Zhen, recognized them as the trio they'd passed earlier, and his brows knitted tightly. "Who are you? Why do you block our path?"
The young man at the front stepped forward calmly, speaking clearly. "Hand over the two Nine-tailed Fox girls you abducted. Perhaps if my mood improves, I'll spare your lives."
Lei Zhen's face turned grim. Behind him, the men drew their weapons with a murderous glint in their eyes.
"Seems you're looking to pick a fight!" Lei Zhen sneered ferociously. "Today, I'll teach you what it means to cross Blood Python City. Kill them all and feed their remains to the dogs!"
Instantly, the group charged, their powerful Yuan energy erupting furiously. Just as Lin Langtian prepared to act, Lin Dong stepped forward confidently.
"Brother Langtian, leave this minor task to me," Lin Dong smiled faintly. "Take care of Xin Qing; I can handle these fools myself."
Lin Langtian nodded appreciatively, stepping back to guard Xin Qing. Lin Dong stared impassively at the approaching attackers, casually raising his palm.
With a single gesture, immense Yuan power surged forth, coalescing into a massive energy palm that slammed mercilessly into the attackers.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of loud crashes echoed as the warriors were hurled violently backward, scattering and tumbling chaotically.
"He's a Death Profound Realm expert?!" several voices shouted in alarm.
Lei Zhen and the other Death Profound expert paled momentarily, staring coldly at Lin Dong. "Are you declaring war on Blood Python City?" Lei Zhen demanded.
Ignoring the threat, Lin Dong merely glanced at the cage behind them, calmly repeating, "Hand over the girls."
Exchanging dark looks, Lei Zhen and his companion suddenly lunged forward simultaneously, intent on overwhelming Lin Dong. Yuan energy roared around them, their bodies swelling as sharp, steel-like bristles erupted from their skin.
Lin Dong remained expressionless, gently raising his foot and then stomping it firmly.
Boom!
The air exploded thunderously as Lin Dong flashed forward at blinding speed. Before anyone could react, the cage shattered violently, and all eyes snapped towards the scene in shock.
There stood Lin Dong, calmly holding Lei Zhen and the other man's throats, the two Blood Python City leaders struggling futilely in his grasp.
Terrified silence fell over the crowd as warriors swallowed nervously, shocked by the young man's incredible strength. Even the captured Nine-tailed girls stared fearfully at Lin Dong, eyes filled with desperate hope.
With contemptuous ease, Lin Dong threw the two defeated men aside like worthless trash.
Xin Qing quickly rushed forward, joyfully recognizing her clanswomen. "Qing-jie! Liu-jie!" she cried out, tears flowing freely.
"Xin Qing?" the two rescued girls whispered incredulously, relief flooding their faces before their own tears began to fall.
Lin Langtian exchanged a glance with Lin Dong, sensing a stronger, hidden presence nearby. Both men calmly turned towards it, waiting expectantly.
A sinister, raspy voice soon drifted from the shadows. "Interesting… humans daring to cause trouble here in the Beast War Region."
Moments later, a pale-faced young man in a gray robe emerged. His long fingers looked like blades, and his body emitted faint yet pungent poisonous mist.
"Young City Lord Cao Mang!" the men from Blood Python City immediately stepped back fearfully, greeting him nervously.
At the sight of Cao Mang, the two rescued girls' faces turned pale with dread, fearfully realizing that someone even more formidable had appeared.
"Don't worry," Xin Qing quickly reassured them, understanding Lin Langtian and Lin Dong's true strength.
Lin Dong faced Cao Mang fearlessly, stating coolly, "We're taking these people. Any objections?"
Cao Mang stared venomously at the two young men, voice dripping with menace. "Do you dare offend Blood Python City? You'll regret it."
Lin Langtian, completely unconcerned, calmly replied, "Your senses seem sharp. You should already know you lack the power to stop us."
Cao Mang's subordinates exchanged anxious glances, shocked to hear even their leader acknowledge Lin Langtian and Lin Dong's superior strength.
"Leave your names!" Cao Mang demanded angrily.
"Lin Langtian."
"Lin Dong."
Ignoring further threats, the two calmly led Xin Qing and her clanswomen away, leaving the astonished Blood Python City warriors behind.
"Young City Lord, were they really that strong?" Lei Zhen asked, unwilling to believe.
Cao Mang nodded grimly, eyes narrowed in frustration. "Far stronger than you imagine. The young man in black robes may seem only at initial Death Profound Realm, but his combat ability is extraordinary. The other, Lin Langtian, has already reached the advanced stage of the Death Profound Realm."
His cold voice lingered ominously as the figures disappeared into the night.
