Damon let out a soft chuckle when he heard that. He turned to the side and pulled Charlotte closer, making her lie right beside him.
For a moment, he didn't say anything, but from the look in his eyes, Charlotte could tell… he was feeling guilty. "The cruise trip was supposed to be something fun, but—"
"But what?" Charlotte frowned, looking annoyed. "What do you mean, but?"
She held his gaze seriously. "The cruise trip was fun. You made it fun. You made me happy." Her voice softened, but her words were still firm. "The only reason our happiness was ruined… was because of those jerks."
