Other remaining Silver Wands, like the deformed lizards, black dragons, and other who had taken the elixir, were doomed.
Without the supply of elixir from headquarters, it was basically a death sentence, leaving them only a few months to live.
As for the new wardings, once the veteran wardings disappeared, they posed almost no threat. But the silver wand were unlucky.
While searching the headquarters, Alex actually found a Silver Wand file in the Ashwinder's bedroom that detailed information on short wardings from various countries. Now, even if Alex wanted to spare them, he had no choice but to hand over this information to Andre.
Since it involved multiple countries, it might even concern the International Wizarding Association. Of course, those were problems for others to worry about.
For now, Alex was happily enjoying the thrill of treasure hunting. The materials and magical items stored in the silver wand headquarters were not only abundant but also extremely useful, making Alex feel like the headquarters was as rich as Horned Basilisk Manor.
It's no surprise that horned basilisk's stores mainly hold personal items, while the warehouse at the silver wand headquarters contains the club's entire reserve of resources.
In that material warehouse, Alex discovered at least 30,000 Galleons in cash. Alongside the money were several kilograms of precious Ulimsteel and Iser Mithril, with tons of other magical metals stacked nearby.
There was also plenty of magical gel used to make silver wand masks, and even more valuable was a full pound of refined mithril, this was the first time Alex had seen such a large piece of it. He also found two one-ounce packages of a substance called 'Flamel.'
Refined mithril is rarer than most magical alloys; up until now, he'd only obtained one from a Thunderbird.
Besides the hard currency and magical metals, the warehouse was rich with all kinds of wizarding supplies: finished potions, raw materials, magical animal parts like hair, skin, teeth, bones, and feathers. Alex had long admired the Mooncalf carpet that covered the entire reception room in the headquarters, it was a subtle yet impressive display of wealth.
Beyond raw materials, there were alchemy tools like door keys and black mirrors, as well as everyday items such as clothing, food, and alcohol. These were all piled high in boxes, showing the club had prepared extensively for any eventuality.
In the magical materials section, Alex's haul was equally impressive. Although many items overlapped with those in horned basilisk's library, he still found some new materials.
Everything was neatly cataloged in the headquarters' database, which saved him a lot of time searching. Later, Alex brought along Shalltear, Thor, Irene, and Fang to help, and it took them two full days to move and inspect the entire Silver Wand headquarters.
Alex was especially careful with the headquarters' magical defenses, the formation array used to create door keys, the portal linking the headquarters to the outside world, and so on. He dismantled all these carefully, packing them away in suitcases for safekeeping.
Alex had only one rule when it came to collecting things: it didn't matter if they were useful or not, if it looked valuable, grab it first and take it away. This mindset came from his thrifty nature.
The props and materials were worth a good amount of Galleons, so naturally, he wanted to find a way to make the most out of them. After even the obsidian floor tiles were pried up, the silver wand headquarters lost its once solemn and dignified atmosphere, now resembling a roughly finished basement.
Seeing this, Alex finally let out a deep breath of relief.
"The Silver Wand incident is finally over. Let's pull out, digesting all this loot is going to take a while."
"Are you really agreeing to Director Andre's request to stay in Germany for another six months?" Shalltear asked, stretching her back lazily.
"That's right," Alex replied. "Germany is still in a state of rebuilding, and it feels unfair to leave all the pressure on Andre alone. But during my time here, I won't get too involved. After all, we're foreigners, so we have to avoid raising any suspicions when it comes to government affairs."
He smiled slightly and added, "Andre also arranged for me to be an Auror training instructor, so I can use this time to test some new alchemy equipment on the Aurors. I've also come up with some fresh ideas for training methods, and this gives me the perfect chance to try them out."
"Heh, sounds like they're in for a tough time..." Fang said with a sly grin.
"So what's the plan after six months? Heading straight back to England?" he asked.
"We have to go back to Britain," Alex said firmly. "Now that we've got research materials, the Longbottom couple's treatment plan is on the agenda, and it's time to organize and publish what we've summarized about 'Tactical Training.' Plus, there are plenty of issues at the Wilson's Arcane Commercial Bank that need our attention."
He paused for a moment before continuing, "But even so, we can't stay in England too long. First, we need to make a trip to the United States."
"I need to send that Thunderbird back to my hometown, and at the same time, I have to find someone from Thor's clan to see if I can make a blood contract with thunderbird clan. Also, if Wilson's Arcane Commercial Bank wants to expand into more overseas markets, we have to visit each country in person. Otherwise, we'll run into problems like we did in Germany. This will also give us a chance to better understand the magical customs and traditions of different places."
"In short..." Alex stared off into the distance, his eyes unfocused but with a knowing smile, as if he could see beyond the present. "I don't think we'll have much time to relax over the next few years."
***More than three years had passed since the shocking split within the German Ministry of Magic that had reverberated throughout the international wizarding community.
Now, it was June 1991, and inside the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall sat opposite Albus Dumbledore, studying him intently.
"Albus, are you really sure about this?" she asked, reaching out to grab a few sweets from the candy dish in front of her and popping them into her mouth as she spoke.
Dumbledore, seated behind his desk, adjusted his half-moon spectacles and smiled gently.
"I've already consulted with the staff during our meeting.
No one raised any objections, except, of course, Severus."
He chuckled softly.
"Minerva, you should know that not only Durmstrang Institute and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in Europe but even Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry over in the States are considering setting up special training programs.
According to recent reports, the methods described in 'Tactical Training' genuinely enhance a wizard's magical sensitivity."
He paused to take another handful of sweets.
