Two mornings later, Squad Two stood in the second row of the tactical briefing room while Emily worked at the main console, the white-and-gold armband of the Student Council Secretary pinned neatly to her uniform. At the front, Instructor Samantha Hall waited for the remaining cadets to settle before bringing up a map of Sector 4.
"The damaged transit hub remains sealed, but the eastern half of the district has passed inspection," Samantha announced. "Today, we are running the exercise again. There will be no forced collapse and no hidden swarm. Squad Two's job is civilian rescue, and the Vice President remains in command."
