Xu Ren drew the first line east.
The second went west toward the quarry road.
The third followed the irrigation canal north before bending toward a section of the map where he left no destination mark.
"Qingyuan sends the eastern convoy," he said. "It should look urgent, official, and slightly disorganized. Anyone listening to their radio traffic will believe Colonel He is moving whatever trucks he could take away from Director Song."
Major Lin leaned over the table. "The south motor pool can give him four cargo trucks and one escort vehicle."
"Make it three cargo trucks," Xu Ren replied. "Keep one in reserve so the convoy has somewhere believable to return if it is challenged. Load the visible truck with empty grain sacks and two pallets of whatever food Qingyuan can spare. The others carry weight but nothing valuable."
Tang Li Yue looked at him. "What weight?"
"Fill the trucks with sand."
