"The medical isolation rooms are not in the clinic wing," He Yao said.
Tang Li Yue looked at him.
The loading bay alarm continued to pulse through the walls, its warning sound spreading deeper into the depot. Somewhere beyond the cargo doors, boots were already moving. Men shouted instructions. A rifle fired once, perhaps into the air, perhaps at something no one in the loading bay could see.
It did not matter.
The depot had realized it was no longer in control.
"He Yao," Tang Li Yue said, "I am going to ask you one question. Please make sure the answer is useful."
The former driver swallowed. "The isolation rooms are behind the records office. Director Ma had the old cold-storage wing converted overnight because the south warehouse was becoming too crowded. There are no windows. The doors are reinforced. They were meant for spoiled grain samples before the depot was renovated."
