Chapter 26 - Chapter 22: Hearts Beyond the Battlefield

Several minutes later, after leaving the infirmary, Cassandra's anger hadn't disappeared. If anything, it had only gotten worse.

Cassandra couldn't help but think about her recent encounter with the memory loss Alessandra and having a strange feeling.

No matter how Cassandra thinks about it, she always felt that she was not talking to Alessandra at all.

Yes. Alessandra has memory loss. But, does that mean her personality, words and actions will undergo a complete personality change? Not even showing a fraction of her former behavior?

Cassandra rubbed her temples.

Why did it bother her so much? It shouldn't.

Yet...

Every word Alessandra spoke felt like it belonged to someone else

"Cassandra, don't be angry, okay? Alessandra has really become unpredictable and foul-mouthed. You shouldn't let her affect your mood..." Lilith said gently, walking up to her in an attempt to pacify her.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Cassandra snapped, cutting Lilith off. "Did I tell you that I am angry?!"

Saying this, Cassandra walks away.

"If you have nothing better to say, then keep quiet. It not a must you must talk." Kaylyn remarked coldly as she walked away with Bianca leaving a very embarrassed Lilith standing alone in the corridor.

"Tsk tsk. What a pitiful life you have, you poor little thing." Amanda said walking towards Lilith, after watching the interaction between them just now.

"Is this how they all usually treats you?" Trancy asked shaking her head. "So cruel."

"Amanda!"

They all turned to see Kael running towards them while Amanda rolled her eyes.

"What is it?!" Amanda asked impatiently.

"Here." Kael said with a smile, placing a small box into Amanda's hands. "I bought it from Moonshade Jade Pavilion when we were on holiday. I really hope you like it." Kael said smiling.

Moonshade Jade Pavilion is the most expensive Jewelry mall in Moonshade, runs by the Moonshade family and they creates the most beautiful jewelry in the Kingdom.

"What? Do I look like someone who hasn't wore jewelries made from Moonshade Jade Pavilion?" Amanda huffed, frowning.

"No. No. That's not what I mean..." Kael stammered helplessly. "Amanda... why are you tormenting me like this? You know that's definitely not what I meant?."

"So, I'm tormenting you now huh?" Amanda challenged, feigning anger.

"No! Amanda..." Kael sighed helpless.

"What?!" Amanda snapped.

"... Fine. I'm sorry." Kael sighed in defeat, his voice soft and gentle. "I really hope you like it."

Saying this, he immediately jogged to catch up to Eric and Lucen.

"Seriously! Can't you two see us innocent people standing here? Feeding us dog food..." Trancy groaned dramatically. "Quick open it. Let me see the necklace that feed me dog food!"

Trancy urged Amanda who opened the box and a jade necklace came into view, which jade pendant glimed beautifully and transparent in the light.

The color fitting perfectly with Amanda's silk green hair and eyes. A smile appeared on Amanda's face as she stares at the necklace.

"WOW... So beautiful." Trancy compliment while Gabriella nods in agreement.

"Kael really have a knack for pretty jewelries." Trancy added.

"What knack! It is not even that beautiful."

Even so, her thumb gently brushed across the jade pendant before she quietly closed the box.

This actions of hers earned Amanda a complex look from both Trancy and Gabriella.

"Whatever. Let's go." Amanda muttered, closing the jewelry box.

Looking at the trio retreating back, Lilith gazed at Amanda, eyes greened with envy.

She really hoped she found someone rich who will cherish and treat her the same way. But... With her background and status. She doubt it.

Lilith shook her head, a sad smile appeared on her small, pretty face. Forget it. She would strive to become rich herself and buy those things for herself.

Nodding to herself, Lilith walked away more determined than ever.

At the far end of the corridor leading out of the Infirmary, was Lord Thomas and the rest of the tutors.

"Do you guys really see what happens in there? I never heard Alessandra talks like that before." Miss Elizabeth observed thoughtfully. "Alessandra has really change."

"Yeah. And I like that change. So bold." Miss Nancy admitted with a grin.

"Exactly! That confrontation really is giving me thrill." Miss Olivia said with an amused smile. "I've never been so proud of her..."

"Miss Olivia, as a tutor. This is something not supposed to be heard from you." Lord Thomas interrupted sternly.

Turning to the rest of the tutors, he reprimanded."You all represent the school decorum and if the students heard you urging a confrontation between two students, what character are you building in them?."

"We just..."

Cutting Miss Elizabeth off, Lord Thomas pressed on. "No excuse! You all should reflect on yourself!"

Hearing this, Miss Olivia and the rest let down their head in embarrassment.

"Brother..." Mr. Collins protested. He couldn't stand seeing the tutors embarrassed. Especially Miss Olivia. "That's too harsh. And what's wrong with them saying their minds? The kids are not elementary students and far more intelligent to fall out of character because of some few words from their tutor."

Lord Thomas brow creased together as he looked at his half-brother. He already knows why he is reprimanding him. "Seriously! Do you hear yourself, brother?"

"I..."

"I understand Commmander Thomas." Miss Olivia answered softly, cutting Mr Collins off. " You are right. The students may be intelligent but we are their role model. We must bring out their best character not the bad ones."

"Mr Collins, you should actually follow Commander Thomas instruction not argue with him." Miss Olivia soft voice rang out in reprimand.

While Mr Collins blinked in disbelief and confusion as he stared at Miss Olivia soft, loving gaze on his brother. What was really attracting about this half brother of his?

Mr Collins frowned, more confused than ever. His gaze falling on Lord Thomas expressionless face, contemplating in his head. Was it because he was handsome? But he was also handsome too... except being too lean.

Meanwhile, Lord Thomas eyebrow twitched looking at the gaze Miss Olivia directed at him. "Good. See that it doesn't happen again."

"Of course Commander Thomas." Miss Olivia replied, eyes smiling.

"Hmm." Grunting out a reply, Lord Thomas immediately walked away feeling uncomfortable all over.

Seeing the man she likes walks away, Miss Olivia immediately went after him while Mr Collins runs after her, trying to explain why he was arguing with his brother, wanting to clear the impression of been unreasonable.

Looking at the three figures walking away, both Miss Nancy and Miss Elizabeth lets out a deep sigh.

"The air of love is everywhere. Even students are falling in love. Where is my own love?." Miss Nancy sighed deeply again.

Shaking her head, Miss Elizabeth said."What use is love and men? Women are supposed to be independent not relying on some fickle men."

"What fickle?" Miss Nancy argued. "Miss Elizabeth, you should let go of your independent mindset and try to give love a chance. If not, you may end up dying alone and lonely."

"What is alone and lonely in the front of peace?" Miss Elizabeth retorted, standing firm on her belief. "I don't have time for all those trash. I love my peace."

Saying this Miss Elizabeth walks away, while Miss Nancy left shaking her head like a worried old granny.
