Two days went by, and the town started to return to normal, though broken buildings and some carcasses of beasts still remained.
People could be seen working everywhere. Some were sweeping blood toward the drain—people skilled in earth magic helped clear fallen rocks and rebuild the destroyed houses.
Some houses were already halfway built, and the potholes were filled with sand.
A large pit was dug outside town, with flies buzzing around the beasts' corpses thrown into it.
People with wheelbarrows lifted the beast's corpse into one, pushed it toward the pit, dumped it in, then wheeled the empty barrow back and continued cleaning the ground.
"I wonder if this meat is fresh and safe for us to eat…we can't just waste the beasts' meat by burning them." The man's tone was filled with distress and longing as he looked at the beast corpses in the wheelbarrow.
The person next to him looked at the chunks in her wheelbarrow, and she grew tempted.
