"And Yuxi," Tang Yuze added, his expression serious, "be careful. You've made a lot of enemies in the last twelve hours. People who might want revenge, or to stop the merger, or simply to remove you as a threat."
Zhou Yuxi's smile was cold and sharp. "Let them try. After last night, I welcome the opportunity for anyone foolish enough to stand in my way to make themselves known. It will save me the trouble of hunting them down later."
Jin Zixuan moved forward, reaching out to squeeze his sister's shoulder. "Come back safe. He's going to want to see you when he wakes up, not hear that you got yourself killed playing a corporate raider."
"I won't die," Zhou Yuxi said with absolute certainty. "I have too much left to do. Too many promises to keep. Death will have to wait."
She turned to leave, then paused at the elevator, looking back at her family one more time.
