He went home exhausted and tired. Sleeping early after a mouthful dinner. He finally soaked in his bed like a jelly that was in a platter. All his muscles were sore, and bones were deadly aching. The sheer cushion and air conditioning made his aches to alleviate, and he relaxed to the point that his mouth had a mouthful of drool. Yes, he was that dead tired. Like the world doesn't exist. Just him and his bed, that's all.
It was Saturday and he was in their home... he was contemplating on his bed. He went to the tryouts having his fatigue and exhaustion, what if he was in full condition? He could ask himself, but he knew the obvious. His past tryout made him realize that his future endeavors will not be easy.
He felt the soreness of his body and washed in the tub of warm water. Warm water alleviates the soreness and helps the muscles to relax. With that, he dressed and felt the lightness of his body. He was full of energy this time. He finally regained 50 percent of his full prowess. Maybe a few more days and he would regain full strength.
He will make some adjustments to have a real training regimen and diet. With it in his routine, he made a good portion of carbs and protein. Fruits too and veggies. He ate more protein now as his muscles were recuperating and repairing lost muscle tissues.
He took a jog in the morning and then went back in their home. He went to his desk and opened up his notes. He first analyzed his current copied basketball style and then his pending to copy. First were the passes of Xin. It was not that hard at first but the other ones would be harder to copy.
Then he thought that he still has more to copy.... so, his next goal were the prodigies! It was a hard one to copy at that and with him losing his prodigy level copycat talent. He could only copy cheap moves of normal players. With that in hand, he has to see or imagine his prodigy teammates' moves and study them to copy.
But it was impossible for now .... so, he has to build his core foundations by strengthening his foundations without overfatiguing himself. He then went with light exercises with his ball. Just some basic dribbles and familiarizing with the ball. The sheer touch embedded in his mind. No hard routines yet. He should focus on restoring his 100 percent first and wash away his fatigue first.
Next day was him on full rest and with just light exercise. Just some stamina and breathing exercises. Then after, he would restore 100 percent of himself, just making his rest worthwhile. He studied his teammates and how to help them. He remembered that he has experience as a coach and trainer in the past as he was still in a wheelchair.
At the same time, May was also making training routines like Renji in her study room. She was reviewing her notes under her lamp. Mildly scribbling on her notes. She then smiled after finishing her routines for all of them. Same with Renji. The two then leaped in their beds after a long sigh. The two were the studious ones. And Renji was both studious and athletic.
Monday came and Renji felt better, having healed his fatigue, he became faster and lighter, stronger too. "So, this is what it feels in my 100 percent!?" He could easily imagine that it was better than his past performance in the tryouts.
He went to school by foot as it was just nearby and saw the basketball court of the neighborhood along the way. He was happy that he could at least met his teammates and the others before being on the same teams with them. He did not expect to see them in the tryouts.
With that in mind, he went to the court and then did some shooting in the free throw line. It all went in without a miss. Then after the shooting drills, he tried to dash and full stop to attack mid-range. It was the movements of mid-range shooters. It was unstoppable when mixed with ankle breaks and speedy maneuver of the ball. These tactics will be useful for either point guards or shooting guards. He was excited to show this to his friends Kishi or Shin.
And the key to ankle breaks was known by Renji, he watched Kentaro in the past and he was the prodigy that was too good in ankle breaks and playmaking. He will learn it first and apply in his next tournament. And noting that, he should copy their best shooter first which was Aizami or their Forward Ace Aoi. Thinking about them, he felt that he could awaken his copycat talent soon. Maybe it was just dormant, if he would feel it.
Thinking about it, maybe his body is not yet ready for his talent to resurface again. He hadn't thought that he could lose it by the time he went back in time. And so, he made it as a goal, that was to regain it. He should, the sooner the better.
With that, he went back to his tracks and went to school. Putting the ball on the side then left. He then bowed to the basketball court slightly then said, "Thank you for letting me use you! I will come back every day here from now on."
He greatly honored the court. It was the place where he regarded as a place of cultivating talents. Without it, he could not make new techniques and skills as a hobby. Theory from his notes of his has to be executed for testing and making adjustments when it was lacking. And so, he strapped his bag and then left. Looking at it one last time.
He paved the road to their school and then saw Kishi and others yelled. "Renji!"
"Hey guys! Wait for me!" Renji replied with a great voice. With that, another day, another life, they went to their respective classes afterwards.
