Nora began a new day with the sun's rays nearly waking her from her slumber, but she knew she had to get up, either because she could not sleep all day or because it was her day off. Wait a moment, it was HER day off. Adrian was waiting for her at the lighthouse to hang out.
With that thought, she hurried to get out of bed but simply fell on her face due to still being half asleep. She stood up now completely awake and acted as if nothing had happened while quickly completing her morning hygiene routine.
...
Nora sat on the soft grass under the long shadow of the lighthouse, a picnic box by her side while on the other side was Adrian sprawled on the ground with that mysterious book that writhed over veins of energy like fused flesh and metal. Soft music echoed from an old music player placed on a small wooden table, and beside it, a silver mirror waited to be seen.
To be honest, she was going to ask him what was so interesting about that book since it was not the first time she had seen him with such a thing, but she did not need to ask for him to answer slowly before closing it.
"It is a magic book I wrote mostly to make power more stable but some things escape me, but let us not get into details about that, it is better to just hang out" he spoke while putting that book on the table and bringing forward that ancient mirror at his side.
"So I assume this is the mirror you have been telling me about that might be a gem artifact, right?" he said while holding the mirror carefully in his hands, a question she answered by adding her own conjectures.
"Yes, it is the mirror I told you about before. I found it in Amethyst's room a few days ago and because of the details as well as the fact that it sometimes flickered with static, I thought it would be a gem artifact from before, well, the rebellion" she said as she moved closer to Adrian, passing him a sandwich before continuing with her observations. "By the colors, I can tell it might be something related to Blue Diamond's court" she said in a flat tone, the latter because she still did not know how to feel about the Diamonds. Those history lessons from Pearl about the Gem Empire still made her shudder at the atrocities committed by their leaders as well as those witnessed by the Crystal Gems in the rebellion led by her mother, but that is beside the point, focus Nora.
"Well, it seems you are right, the architecture of the material is simply something I have not seen before, I could only compare it with the warp pad crystal in your house but well, I do not know much about this" he said, looking at the mirror out of the corner of his eye while inspecting the material by running a finger over it as if checking something beyond common sight, something she did not doubt was true.
"Yes, that is what I thought" she said, taking a moment to think about how to say the following. "I would like you to help me repair it, you know, you and me doing something together?" she spoke while moving her arm to pull him closer, emphasizing the word "together." Her bright pink eyes met his slightly platinum black ones in a silent smile. He moved closer to her, their lips almost touching, but they were interrupted by the crackle of a static hum coming from the mirror.
"That was anticlimactic" he said, to which she could only laugh a little before simply kissing his cheek.
"And cliché" she said while taking the mirror gently in her hands since they would be working with this rebellious little thing for a while.
"Then let us get to work" Adrian simply said before giving her a pat on the back before stroking her muscles, leaving a strange sensation of softness and incomplete pleasure in her.
"Well, from what I see at a glance, the processor or central computer of this thing must be the teardrop shaped gem" he spoke while Nora also gave details of the things she knew because this was a field she more or less mastered.
"Mostly correct I think, but do you see these patterns that connect it? They are like the connections that allow the use of surrounding energy in the mirror for its operation or something like that, I really do not know how it gets energy beyond what I was taught about gem biology" she added while scratching her head a bit, trying to remember the crystallization patterns carved into gem structures. It was something like the reason everything remained intact despite being thousands of years old as long as most of the structure had not broken. "Although I do not know how good the structure of that is" she said pensively while passing the mirror to him.
"That makes a lot of sense" Adrian spoke slowly as if reflecting on something she had not thought of before or another of his indescribable things, but he quickly came out of those thoughts. "That would explain the anomalous energy flow of the object, it simply absorbs energy and if the matrix circuit is broken, it simply dissipates for the most part, so even if the gem central computer still works even a little, it will not function." That well, it made a lot of sense, and I did not question how he could see the energy because in our previous fusion I understood a bit of the point of view he has of the world. That made many of his actions make sense now, like the ability to see the future she thought he had, now knowing that he simply sees more things than others can see.
Although it is not like that fusion had left her with nothing, she could better notice certain things just by being close. One of them was emotions beyond the motives for them, they were simply the emotions, and from what she could feel, Adrian was a strange combination of a carefully hidden love and a quiet serenity that overshadowed his conflicting emotions.
But this is not the point right now, she simply lost herself in her thoughts before following the thread of the conversation.
"So to repair it, a new circuit would have to be put in as well as restoring the computer?" she said, knowing it could either be very simple to solve or a total odyssey in terms of complexity.
"Well, there are more things like nano scale fractures here and there, but really, in broad terms, your conclusion is totally true, star girl" he said while simply ruffling her hair, something she would not let pass and counterattacked by tackling him onto the grass.
Now the two of them stationed in the grass looking up at the sky next to each other took a moment of comforting silence while their bodies seemed to relax at the touch of the other. For a moment, they forgot all the things they had on their minds and just focused on each other.
Mainly her at his touch, well, she would have to ask him for massages more often because she simply refused to let pass an opportunity where his hands traveled her entire body, searing that sensation into her memory. By the stars, she really was needy in that sense, was her main thought, which she kept to herself because knowing who was next to her, she could look like an open book. This seemed to have happened because Adrian's hands began to touch her stomach, slowly moving down in a more and more tempting way before suddenly stopping.
"Do not stop" was the only sound she could make at that.
Her shallow breathing suddenly stopped when his hand withdrew. She opened her eyes with surprise before seeing Adrian's gaze that indicated he had only been having fun seeing her expression of sexual frustration. She looked at him between desire and anger but mostly with the thought that "two can play that game."
She ran one of her hands through his hair while the other held him firmly at her side. Their lips joined while his rather "troll" posture was melted by the sensations. She moved slowly from his cheek to his neck where an intrusive thought won her over and, taking a page from his troll book, she bit his neck with enough force to leave a mark but not enough to be uncomfortable. All this while slowly the hand she used to keep him held down moved like a snake, caressing a bulge in his crotch, one that Nora could only describe as "painfully large and hard."
But it seems that all this was just a plan of his because she felt how a hand firmly cupped her butt, moving over it slowly with that hypnotic sensation in those movements.
...
She and Adrian stood up from the spot after a time in which they enjoyed a healthy session of foreplay that only increased their hunger for more. But she knew when to stop and doing it in broad daylight at the literal city lighthouse was not the brightest idea anyone has ever had, so she just settled for how Adrian's hands became increasingly possessive of her body, exploring more and more with each new attempt of theirs. The day would come but it would not be today, she knew it from the beginning even if it bothered her a bit, but for her own pleasure, she was not the only party in such a situation. Adrian's emotions, although very controlled, exuded in those moments a desire as strong or stronger than the one she possessed, guiding her like a moth follows the light. She simply wanted him to feel more of that peculiar sensation of lust; knowing she caused that in him ignited those types of possessive emotions in her.
Leaving that aside, they had begun to discuss how to proceed with the repair of the mirror, not so much because it was something extremely important to conclude, but because she felt that if she did not distract herself with something at that precise moment, she would jump on him regardless of having said a moment ago that today would not be that day. Something he knew, so he refrained from provoking her more than necessary so that it would NOT happen... yet.
"And that is why I think we should fix the circuits first as it is the easiest thing to do, then we see how the gem computer reacts since, being honest, it is the most complex part so I do not know how long it will take us to repair it" he said while pointing to a hologram with the most easily repairable broken pieces. For my part, I could not help but agree with this since the projection of the matrix circuits was very damaged and a reconstruction based on the ones that already exist is possible, but it would be like reverse engineering a truck having only a quarter of the engine as well as other random pieces.
"Then how long do you think it will take us to repair it?" I said while taking a bit of apple juice I had brought for the picnic.
"Everything or just the external matrix circuits? To the first, I do not know; the second I can do in just a couple of minutes" he said while holding the hologram of the mirror, adding certain symbols until the external matrix looked repaired.
"Why does it not surprise me that you can repair an alien artifact thousands of years old with only a brief explanation of gem technology?" I said while looking at him as if, well, he could do everything. And although I know that thought is a lie, for practical purposes, I know he can do everything after that fusion; that much was clear to me. He simply chooses not to do certain things or just does not bother to learn how.
"Hey, it was not so sudden you know, lately I have been touching a piece of fairly recent gem technology a lot, something curvaceous that keeps me awake many times" he said while giving me a smack on the behind, to which I could only respond with a witty comment to get the sensation of that hard thing of his out of my mind.
"Very funny, and I suddenly cannot stop thinking about a magic rock with a certain phallic shape, therefore I am now an expert in magic" I said, doing my best imitation of his voice, at which we both laughed at the growing sexual tension that grew every day between us.
A couple of minutes passed during which Adrian outlined the matrix circuits of the gem while I gave my opinion on the distances and energetic resistances of the thing. You know, it was strange to see that and instinctively understand how it worked for the most part but without knowing how to explain it. It was like knowing how to walk; once you learn that, you do it unconsciously. But it was not the first time she discovered a power like that, so it just remained as a new topic they talked about, a topic she would not have mentioned if it were not for Adrian giving her a pat on the head.
"Done" he said as the mirror glowed in a faint blue light in its circuits before dimming and turning off completely. "I do not know what will happen but the next modification will have to be done another day" he said, pointing to the increasingly closer sunset before continuing. "You should keep it in the meantime; apparently you know more about this than I do, so anything important is useful." He stood up while holding me like a princess, to which I could only laugh a little at that as we tentatively walked down the lighthouse hill.
