The eighth year of Zhaoning's spring, the heavy snow has just melted, and all things are rejuvenated.
A most ordinary small village in Eastern Jin is now divided into two distinct sides. Many villagers go out from dawn till dusk, faces glowing red, looking quite robust and well-fed, which is rare in Eastern Jin's countryside, where scrawny bodies are commonplace.
Some other villagers only go to the fields around noon to do some basic farm work, and then return home to enjoy their vegetarian meals and recite scriptures. Yet, by lunchtime, the village is filled with the smell of meat. After lunch, those revitalized farmers plunge back into the fields, working until dusk before returning home.
The two types of people are strangers, as if destined to never interact.
