Both guns ran out of bullets, and the five people at the main door had all met their grim fate. Jimmy glanced at the house; there was not a single person standing inside, but he could see two people crawling slowly towards the door. The gunfire outside ceased, and when they called out to the exterior and received no response, they stopped.
Jimmy wasn't in a hurry. He reached over and patted down a corpse on the ground, found a magazine, and swapped it in. On the other side, three more people remained on alert, though they didn't reveal themselves. If Jimmy hadn't been able to see them, he would have thought they had already fled.
Again, sneaking around the back of the house, Jimmy had just shot one of them when the other two unloaded their bullets onto the corner where Jimmy was, making him drop to the ground, then crawl behind the wall.
Fortunately, the house wasn't purely wood; instead, it was a wooden framework set on a raised foundation, offering some protection once prone.
