The moment they stepped out of the restaurant, the winter night's chilly wind swept through, causing them to involuntarily shiver.
Wu Wei turned and spoke to Shen Mumu, who was busy adjusting her scarf, "I have some things to tend to later, so I won't be able to take you back. How are you planning to get home?"
Shen Mumu paused in her motion of tying the scarf.
She hadn't anticipated that Wu Wei would skip the basic gentlemanly duty of "sending her back to school."
Once again, this strayed from her script.
But she quickly hid her surprise, lifted her face, and flashed a considerate and sensible smile, "I'll just take a taxi."
Then she casually asked, "Are you going to pick up your girlfriend?"
Wu Wei nodded, "Yes."
Shen Mumu's expression tautened almost imperceptibly for a moment, but in the next second, her smile blossomed again.
"Your girlfriend is so lucky!"
Her tone carried a hint of envy, "To meet such a wonderful, outstanding boyfriend like you!"
