Kara showed them which angles covered the road, which gaps beneath the wall were invisible unless someone leaned out carefully, and where the inner courtyard disappeared behind broken rooftops. Her hands no longer trembled when she drew her bow. She still glanced toward the place where the climbing Mauler had fallen, but each glance became shorter as the hours passed.
