Nicholas Van Rossum:
First Ability: Specialist Category:
1. Save Point: Through a small daily ritual, Nicholas can mark a place and spot where he will return once in time in the event of being killed, retaining all of his memories.
To perform the ritual, Nicholas must draw a circle on the ground and write the word "RETURN" in it. He must then build a pedestal on top of it using whatever he has on hand, and place on it an object that embodies the knowledge he gathers to return with his memories of the first timeline, and an object that has great emotional value so that his soul can return too.
He then lights an incense stick on the altar, and flaring his Ren, drops a little freshly spilled blood into the circle while reciting a special prayer to mark the return point. Once the ability is used up, the incense stick quickly burns to ashes and the Save Point is canceled.
The prayer goes like this:
You who have been there from the beginning until now. You who advance tirelessly as the witness to all, hear my prayer.
Here I offer you my blood in tribute. May this place and moment be etched in eternity.
Until the curtain falls, marking the end of the act, do not let silence trap me in its embrace.
Grant me the power to undo what has happened. Give me the chance to recover what is lost.
The journey returns to where it begins, and thus a new future blossoms.
A new opportunity to not fall into my mistakes again, and to live without regret.
Weaknesses:
Only one Save Point can be created and used per day, so Nicholas only gets one second chance to do better. Furthermore, the Save Point only lasts until midnight, so if he doesn't die before then, he won't be able to return.
The user must be in Zetsu state for the ability to activate (I believe it's the same for Camilla), and they must also be killed by another person/being. If they commit suicide or suffer an accidental death (such as eating something they don't know is poisonous or being caught in an explosion), they will not return. The key is that the death must be caused by another person, even if they are unaware of it.
And Nicholas can't bring anyone with him, so he has to trust that other people will believe his statements even though he can't state its origin.
Second Ability: Category Conjuration and Manipulation:
2. Ultimate Programming. Nicholas conjures up a laptop with which he can perform various programming-based actions.
Data Collection and Processing: The laptop records all of Nicholas's information, constantly updating with every experience he has and allowing him to display this information to others as text, graphics, audio, or video. Furthermore, this ability also allows him to gather information from another person's database by analyzing their mind and body using a highly advanced and complex programming language. This is done with cables that extend from the computer and connect to the individual being analyzed.
Weaknesses:
The process of analyzing and recording information from a target's mind is complex and can be quite time-consuming. Furthermore, the user cannot gather this information if the target is unwilling to share it, requiring them to either coerce the target into consent or render them unconscious, though Nicholas does not yet possess sufficient skill to do so.
Also, the user cannot collect mental information from a dead target.
Information Transfer: Nicholas can use his laptop to transfer certain information into a person's mind. This is particularly useful on reconnaissance or covert operations, as Nicholas can send various data points (such as the surrounding area and enemies) to his comrades, who receive the information directly in their brains. With this, he can guide allies by transferring "maps" to their minds, provide information about people he's working with and discovers in the moment, and even shorten research and study time by transmitting learned information.
Weaknesses:
Nicholas needs to have a person registered in his database in order to transfer the information to them, and giving that information to another person is not without its drawbacks; The process seems to induce mental strain that lasts for the duration of the download, increasing in value and complexity. As such, Nicholas states that executing the ability based on the information it provides and the receiver's situation can be dangerous, so he prefers to send more concise messages.
Furthermore, the transmission is one-way, meaning that if Nicholas and his allies do not have a means of communicating remotely, he will not be able to know how the situation is going on the other side or what his allies want to tell him about the information.
Physical Constructs: Using data stored on the computer, Nicholas can create physical replicas of objects or people. He can use these constructs for training, to fight alongside him, or for specific tasks. Furthermore, these constructs can use Nen, and by possessing the memories of the people they replicate, they can utilize their abilities. He can create up to 4 objects and 2 people per day, but if he duplicates himself, he can increase this limit to 8 and 4 respectively.
Weaknesses:
Although the replicas possess the same personality and memories as the original, this only extends to the moment their analysis and registration were done, meaning that they will not carry any skills, information, or changes to themselves that they subsequently acquire.
Despite being able to summon a double of himself without problems, to create a replica of another person Nicholas needs to analyze and collect their body, mind, and aura information beforehand, and after using it once the data is erased from the laptop, requiring Nicholas to perform the entire process to summon it again.
Furthermore, the user can only make one invocation at a time as a condition for making the ability more powerful, and while a duplicate of himself can also summon someone registered as a loophole, it cannot summon a copy of the ability user again because their registration information is still in active use.
Although duplicate individuals possess the same physical capabilities and Nen abilities as the person from whom they originate from, their Nen capacity will be the same as the one who creates them (Nicholas), and their category will also be the same: Specialist. This means that the replicas will become progressively weaker the further their original category deviates from Specialist, with Enhancers being the most affected.
Replicas of people can remain for 24 hours, until they are damaged too much to continue existing, or until the user makes them disappear. While a copy is in use, the user cannot reset the daily use limit for the ability. Furthermore, a double created by a replica of the user will disappear if the user's double is destroyed.
Finally, even though the double knows it is a copy destined to disappear and is completely loyal and obedient to the user, the user has no direct control or connection over the created replicas. These replicas possess free will and can decide to act on their own depending on how the situation unfolds. This means the user cannot always know what the created copies are planning, nor can they be always sure if they are destroyed. Therefore, the user must seek out trustworthy people to duplicate.
Subspace: Nicholas can convert physical objects into data and store them on his computer, allowing him to travel light and always have spares.
Weaknesses: It cannot digitize very large objects like trucks, nor can it digitize live people or animals. Furthermore, it is supposed to have a storage limit, but this limit has not been specified.
