"You are the most beautiful woman in the world."
Levi's voice carried easily across the foyer, low and certain, as Lyse stood poised at the top of the sweeping staircase.
For a moment she did not move.
The chandelier light caught in the folds of her dress, a piece of her own design. Fine silk layered so softly it seemed to float around her rather than cling. It was cut modestly, but the way it traced her figure as she descended made it anything but innocent. She had chosen the color deliberately: a deep midnight blue that made her skin glow and her eyes look almost silver.
In Levi's eyes, no one else could compare.
And tonight, she looked almost unreal.
As she began to descend, one careful step at a time, he noticed the faint red blooming across her cheeks.
Good.
