Chapter 506 - Chapter 506: Death Eater Malfoy

Wade turned the lens of his omnioculars and soon spotted two or three more school-exclusive boxes on the opposite side. He also saw students being led by their professors to watch the match.

They were all teenagers, born into an era of peace, possessing power unimaginable to ordinary people. Even among their peers, they were considered especially gifted. As a result, they all looked full of youthful spirit and confidence.

Perhaps the adults accompanying them had come to Britain with certain ambitions in mind, but the students themselves rarely thought that far. Even with the upcoming tournament, all they were focused on was doing their best.

Right now, these young wizards were just like all the other passionate fans—cheering, shouting, eyes glued to the soaring players. They erupted in joy when their team scored and groaned in frustration when things went awry.

Suddenly, Wade's lens paused slightly. He spotted the Malfoy family with his omnioculars.

What drew his attention was that, like Sirius Black, the Malfoys had also rented an entire luxury box but hadn't invited anyone else to fill the extra seats.

Draco Malfoy was leaning on the railing, visibly excited as he watched the game—his expressions were not much different from Harry's beside Wade.

His mother sat beside him with a gentle smile on her face. She didn't seem very interested in the match itself; most of her attention was focused on Draco.

Lucius Malfoy, who had been sitting beside them with a slight frown, suddenly leaned toward his wife and whispered something, then got up and exited the box through a side door—disappearing from Wade's view.

Wade turned his lens again and spotted a group of students who had earlier mocked England for only scoring 10 points. Their robes—striped in vibrant blue and magenta—were so strikingly bold that they matched their flamboyant yet contradictory aura perfectly.

Now Wade knew—they were students from Ilvermorny, the American wizarding school.

Some old-fashioned British wizards viewed Ilvermorny as a shallow imitation of Hogwarts—flighty and lacking in depth. But American wizards saw themselves as trailblazing pioneers bursting with potential, while Hogwarts was seen as a relic steeped in decay.

However, given the wizarding world's inherently conservative and insular nature, wizards from the two countries had limited opportunities to interact, and rarely shared these opinions openly.

Thinking about how all these people would soon be gathered at Hogwarts, Wade couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Professor McGonagall.

As for Dumbledore… he likely wouldn't be troubled at all. He'd just smile, watch the clash of ideals unfold, and cheerfully tell everyone they were doing a wonderful job.

Moving his gaze away from Ilvermorny's box, Wade glanced back at the match—just in time to see a Peruvian Beater swing with full force, sending a Bludger hurtling toward the opponent. But the Irish Beater dodged with expert agility.

The skill level of these professional Quidditch players always amazed Wade. It was pitch-black now, with no moon visible in the cloudy sky. Even with stadium lighting, tracking a Bludger was no easy feat.

Yet the players acted like the Bludgers and Quaffles were extensions of their own bodies. Sometimes they reacted before their eyes could have possibly seen the ball.

It made Quidditch look far less boring than Wade had once thought.

As he let his thoughts drift, a Peruvian player was struck by a Bludger. Blood immediately spurted out, and the player plummeted from the sky.

The safety wizards rushed in on brooms, and just before the player hit the ground, a Levitation Charm caught him.

The match was paused briefly, and Wade's gaze returned to the spectator boxes.

He drifted aimlessly from box to box, hoping to spot a few familiar faces—Antoine, Grindelwald, McGonagall, or Dumbledore, perhaps.

Suddenly, a gleam of pale golden hair, smooth as silk, caught Wade's attention.

Lucius Malfoy left his family's private box, only to reappear in another one. The people in this new box were seated in the back rows, seemingly indifferent to the match. They were huddled together and were whispering with an air of agitation.

Wade saw Lucius Malfoy unconsciously clutching his arm, his expressions were laced with fear and a trace of disgust.

When the referee's whistle signaled the restart of the match, Lucius stood and quietly exited the box. The others soon followed suit.

Among them were two burly, muscular men who looked like enlarged versions of Goyle and Crabbe—clearly the fathers of the two Slytherin students.

Wade had seen Crabbe's father before. Now, as he watched the man, he noticed his demeanor had grown even more sullen. He didn't speak a word—just listened intently.

The others in the group varied in appearance—some thin and gaunt, others with vicious expressions, and one was noticeably hunched. Most of them kept touching their arms from time to time, almost as if by reflex.

—A Death Eater gathering, perhaps?

Wade frowned. After the group left, the remaining people in the box seemed to finally shift their attention back to the match.

Wade lowered his head and fiddled with his omnioculars—one of the perks of these all-view models was that they could replay scenes, with zoom-in and zoom-out functions.

The group from the box soon reappeared in the viewfinder, and Wade began to lip-read their blurred speech:

"The Mark… getting stronger… resurrection…"

"Impossible…"

"Create chaos… test… can send a signal…"

"Wait for the right moment… we need… the finals…"

Wade lowered the omnioculars, and a deep frown formed on his face.

The 'Dark Mark' on the Death Eaters' arms—it is reacting again. Is it warning them that Voldemort's resurrection is underway?

It is probably like being randomly shocked across distances—something impossible to ignore. In some ways, it even weakened the effect of the 'Forgetfulness Charm' that is supposed to suppress these memories.

If that is the case, would they follow the plot of the original story and cause chaos at the camp after the match, torturing Muggles?

Suddenly, a shrill, triumphant whistle pierced the air—Ireland had won.

A roar of cheers and chaos erupted in the stands. Supporters were jumping with joy, waving their wands to release countless magical fireworks into the night sky.

The Irish players were flying victory laps around the pitch, as if they wanted to shout their triumph to every single spectator.

With this win, they had secured a spot in the finals, guaranteeing at least a second-place finish.

"That was amazing," Harry said, still buzzing with excitement. "Aidan Lynch was incredible, and his teammates were great too! What did you think, Wade?"

Wade blinked and replied, "Honestly, I think the most exciting match will always be the first one."

"Huh?" Harry looked confused—he wasn't big on reading, especially not history books.

But Sirius and Lupin understood immediately and burst into laughter.

"1473," Wade explained slowly. "The very first Quidditch World Cup didn't have all these modern rules."

"I heard they turned a Chaser into a ferret, tried to chop off a Keeper's head with a machete, and one captain smuggled over a hundred vampire bats under his robes—how can chasing a few balls compete with that?"

Harry stared, dumbfounded.

"And they still called that Quidditch?"

Wade nodded: "Traditional wizarding Quidditch."
