Chapter 819 - Chapter 680.5: Chain-Toothed Greatsword

Chapter 680.5: Chain-Toothed Greatsword

Just as the matured vine monsters prepared to return and feed the Treant—

The Evil Shadow Spirits took control and sent them charging to the frontlines.

The roaring vine monsters watched helplessly as the Treant shrieked under Yaya's assault, but could only sprint forward.

More massive twisted monsters surged in.

Together with the vine monsters, they rushed toward the burning fire wall.

Armless, the Twisted Treant thrashed desperately, trying to shake Yaya off.

It rapidly devoured nearby twisted creatures, regrowing its limbs.

Yaya marveled at the Treant's toughness and smiled with genuine delight.

The tougher the wood, the higher the selling price!

A massive Treant like this, even just sold as firewood, would fetch tens of thousands of gold coins!

Fired up by the thought, Yaya got even more excited.

She used all four claws to rip off the crown branches.

Then stuffed them into her storage space!

But the Treant regenerated quickly, sprouting new branches in no time.

Eyeing the fresh shoots, Yaya's eyes gleamed wickedly as she muttered:

"Hehe, it keeps growing back? That means I can keep pulling? Keep stripping it down?"

Without hesitation, she tore the Treant bald again in just a few swipes.

Her claws slammed into the trunk.

The Treant howled in pain as it sensed her attacks.

It flailed wildly, trying to restrain Yaya with newly grown arms.

But Yaya matched it in strength and far surpassed it in body resilience.

Her sharp fangs and claws shredded its body with ease.

In a flurry of strikes, she severed the Treant's limbs again, nullifying its resistance.

However, Yaya quickly realized that its vitality was absurdly high—its regeneration was practically broken.

She had torn off its arms several times, yet it still thrashed around.

But Yaya wasn't surprised. She had already grasped the key—

The horde of nearby twisted monsters and plants were feeding its recovery.

Still, Yaya wasn't alone—she had allies and warriors.

"Brothers, with me!"

She immediately signaled Jifan, who was coordinating the battlefield.

Just as he was about to strike the twisted horde, Jifan gave the order:

"Magic cannons, fire!"

"Deploy Yaya-01!"

"Hasn't Yaya-01 already been deployed?"

Many Warriors blinked in confusion, and an odd question popped into their minds.

From the teleportation golem machinery operated by the civil engineers, two massive figures emerged.

Their entire bodies gleamed with a bright silvery metallic sheen.

With imposing and stylish forms, their elemental fusion engines in their chests roared as they charged toward the Twisted Treant being suppressed by Yaya.

They left deep footprints in the scorched ground, accelerating as they charged.

What truly surprised Jifan was that the weapons in their hands were completely different from those on Yaya-01 controlled by Orianna.

Two black, gleaming, fearsome greatswords radiating a biting cold light.

Unlike other oversized weapons, these greatswords lacked smooth, sharp edges and instead featured interlocking, jagged, rhomboid teeth.

Chains glowing with dark golden light tightly connected the savage teeth, wrapped around the glowing sword blades.

Jifan, still puzzled, noticed the activation light at the hilt of the greatswords. His eyes widened in sudden realization.

These weren't just ordinary greatswords!

They were clearly chain-toothed greatswords!

Glowing red formation patterns drove tightly connected clockwork mechanisms, rotating components that spun the chains at high speed.

The gleaming adamantine teeth, pulled by the rapidly rotating chains, sliced through the air and let out a deafening roar as they made their debut.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The roaring chain-toothed greatswords were raised high by both Yaya-01 and came crashing down viciously on the defenseless Twisted Treant.

Vrrrm! Vrrrm! Vrrrm!

The rapidly spinning adamantine teeth tore through the Treant's thick bark, sending clouds of wood chips flying.

Stung by pain, the Twisted Treant sensed imminent danger.

In panic, it summoned a massive swarm of bloodthirsty vines, trying to avoid Yaya and Yaya-01.

But the vines that had worked so well before were utterly useless against Yaya-01, wrapped in a thunder magic shield.

"Hahaha, full power! We have to chop this thing down!"

The cheerful Yudala pushed Yaya-01 to drive the buzzing chain-toothed greatsword deep into the Treant's body.

Not to be outdone, Rika drove her own chain-toothed greatsword from the other side, carving a gaping wound into the Treant's lower half.

"Roaar...!"

The Twisted Treant let out a shrill wail and thrashed wildly, pouring energy into its vines to mend the wounds.

But suddenly it felt a terrifying paralyzing force flood into its body.

Sensing its momentary vulnerability, Yaya excitedly shouted:

"Everyone, give it your all!"

Yaya flapped her wings with full force, gripping the Treant and dragging it to the side.

Countless bloodthirsty vines wrapped around them, but couldn't repair the massive gash left by the greatswords.

With over 70% of its body weight being dragged by Yaya, the Treant slowly toppled sideways through the gaping wound.

Its body cracked and popped with sharp snapping sounds.

The terrifying monster twisted in agony, shrieking in panic.

Boom!

Its hundred-ton body crashed hard onto the ground.

Except for a few tough fibers, the Treant's upper and lower halves were completely separated.

Yudala, slicing away the surrounding vines with glee, raised the chain-toothed greatsword and hacked at the Treant's still-wriggling wooden fibers.

Vrrrm! Vrrrm! Vrrrm!

Under the furious slicing of the greatsword, dark green leaves and splinters flew in all directions.

The remaining fibers were shredded, and even the incredibly resilient Treant was now split in two.

But even now, the Twisted Treant didn't die.

Dense bloodthirsty vines sprouted rapidly from both its upper and lower halves, trying to reconnect.

Yaya, grinning with delight, severed the growing vines around the Treant.

She dug her claws into the Treant's core and flapped her wings forcefully, actually managing to lift its hundred-ton body.

As the roots drew farther away, the remaining limbs and vines were severed by the two Yaya-01 below.

The Treant roared in despair, desperately growing vines to interfere with Yaya.

But she barely had to exert herself and even had a spare claw to clear the vines.

Yet the sight of Yaya flying while lifting such a massive weight left everyone on the battlefield speechless.

Carrying the vine-covered Twisted Treant, Yaya flew to the mouth of Aso Volcano and dropped it into the glowing magma pool.

The Treant, its face twisted in horror, was submerged in the molten lava.

Before its newly grown vines could even surface, they were scorched into blackened charcoal and melted.

Yaya watched intently as the writhing Treant gradually stilled, then reached in with her claw and pulled it from the lava.

Right in front of Onyxia, she stuffed the charred remains of the Treant into her storage space.

As Onyxia trembled, Yaya bared two rows of terrifyingly sharp white teeth in a "smile" and asked:

"Have you finished your homework today?"

Shaking, Onyxia quickly lowered her head, tapped open her magic wristwatch, and resumed her calculations without hesitation.

Witnessing Yaya's terrifying strength and dominance—

Onyxia suddenly felt that studying was an immensely joyful thing for a dragon.

"I love studying!"

Snap!

Boom!

Yudala and Rika, controlling Yaya-01, swept away nearby vines with their chain-toothed greatswords, clearing out the advancing twisted monsters without hesitation.

The buzzing greatswords displayed overwhelming destructive power.

No twisted monster or plant could withstand their slicing and tearing.

They dragged the lower half of the vine-infested Treant into the encircling flame wall.

Just as they pushed Yaya-01 forward with all their strength, they suddenly felt the load become much lighter.

And then, they saw Yaya descending from the sky.

She easily grabbed the remaining half of the Treant and flew back toward the volcano.

"Prepare to attack the second Twisted Treant!"

The two looked enviously at the soaring Yaya, then raised their buzzing greatswords and charged toward the nearest Treant.

Before they could get close, Yaya descended again with incredible speed.

Eyeing the noticeably bulkier Treant, and recalling the terrifying cutting power of the chain-toothed greatsword, she couldn't help but mutter:

"Should I get one of those too?"

The Twisted Treant, with high defense and HP but low attack, posed little threat to Yaya.

Her hardened scales and muscular armor matched or exceeded the Treant in strength and crushing attributes, allowing her to easily overpower it.

Its poor mobility meant it couldn't even turn to flee.

It could only flail its arms helplessly, only for them to be severed again and again by Yaya.

The two Yaya-01 helping Yaya slice through the Treant—

Always waited for it to be fully disabled before charging in to finish the job.

Realizing something was wrong, the Evil Shadow Spirits quickly sent in large twisted monsters to aid the Treant.

But Bay Territory's long-range artillery always struck first, blanketing the area around the Treant.

Thus, even a Twisted Treant at the peak of the Legendary tier—

Once stripped of its resistance by Yaya, could only be hacked in half by the pair of chain-toothed greatswords despite its immense vitality and recovery.

During this relentless combat, felling Treant after Treant, Yaya grew even more confident in her current path.

Having life force and a high tier did help in combat.

But such growth took a long time.

And it wasn't sustainable to devote all life force purely into combat power like Yaya did.

"A lifeform like the Twisted Treant, unable to control its body or its direction of growth, will never reach a higher tier."

"Learning and training are absolutely essential!"

"There is no end to learning!"

Yaya, now firmer in will than ever, felt her thoughts and body merge, her mood soaring.

Of course, this couldn't have happened without the Twisted Treants' 'contribution.'

And without the gains—and the gold coins!

As more Treants fell, the Evil Shadow Spirits couldn't help but wail and curse:

"And here we thought the Twisted Treants would be useful? They got wrecked that easily?"

"They're worse than the Catachan Devils—they can't even run."

"Quit whining. Full assault now!"

"Send the Insect King (Catachan Devil) too—we have to tie up the two iron monsters."

"Not possible. The first iron monster can suppress them alone."

"Deploy all other large combat units. Don't give them any breathing room."

"Make the Treants change shape! Why are they standing so tall? Shrink already!"

"How the hell is she lifting something that heavy?"

"Magic power again, obviously..."

"..."

All the twisted monsters stirred, launching a full assault on Bay Territory's defenses.

The larger twisted monsters had far stronger defense and vitality than the regular ones.

The ordinary dwarf cannons and magic artillery explosions could no longer deal with them.

Jifan decisively pulled back the defense lines, reducing the artillery's coverage zone.

At the same time, the temperature of the scorched ground kept rising, aiming to limit the monsters' regeneration and mobility.

Many smaller twisted monsters and plants were roasted alive by the heat, reduced to dry husks.

Only the larger ones could endure the burning and remain under the Evil Shadow Spirits' control.

However, even the Evil Shadow Spirits could sense that their grip was weakening under the heat.

But with nothing left to lose, they no longer cared about preserving their forces.

They sent wave after wave of twisted monsters to escort the dwindling number of Treants closer to Catachan Aso Volcano Fortress.

Under cover from the large twisted monsters, logging operations by Yaya and the two Yaya-01 grew increasingly difficult.

In the end, they managed to fell eight Twisted Treants, just as the monstrous horde surged toward the blazing lava moat.

Bay Territory soldiers manning the walls were finally about to face the twisted monsters head-on.

Standing on the wall, Angela directed the troops pouring out of the teleportation array to quickly take positions and rest.

Staring at the seven twisted Treants, she gave the order without hesitation:

" Sub-dragon Squad, launch!"

One by one, crimson heads emerged from the lava pool, unleashing a sky-shaking roar.
