Chapter 566 - Chapter 566, Skeleton Anti-Stab Armor

Chapter 566, Skeleton Anti-Stab Armor

Wu Heng looked at Qiangzi's blueprints.

The design for mounting a machine gun didn't place it on the wyvern's back but rather suspended it under the skeletal wyvern's abdomen.

It was angled slightly downward.

The second drawing depicted an oil-spraying wyvern, drawn rather simply, showing flames spewing from its mouth.

"Burning with oil—what if the fire follows the fuel pipe and causes an explosion? Also, if the flames are too strong and completely incinerate the bodies, I won't be able to convert them into skeletons," Wu Heng said.

"Then what about the machine gun idea?"

"The machine gun sounds feasible. Why mount it underneath?"

Qiangzi explained, "If placed on the back, it would be difficult to angle the gun downward enough. Plus, in a city full of tall buildings, it would be hard to aim at zombies in the streets. Mounting it underneath makes aiming easier."

"How will it be operated?"

"A humanoid skeleton sits on the wyvern's back and uses something like a handlebar to adjust direction and fire. Here, I have a drawing." Qiangzi flipped to another page.

The sketch showed a humanoid skeleton sitting atop the wyvern, gripping handlebars that controlled the machine gun below.

The mechanism resembled a bicycle—turning the handles adjusted the direction.

"I think this could work. Worth experimenting with," Wu Heng nodded, genuinely impressed.

"Right? I knew you'd get our creativity!" Qiangzi looked excited.

"Anything else?" Wu Heng continued.

Qiangzi flipped to the next page and said, "This is Iron Bull Armor—basically, those mutated skeletal bulls we fought before, but covered in iron armor. Mounted with machine guns on both sides. And then, there's the skeleton anti-stab armor."

Wu Heng asked, "Tell me about the anti-stab armor."

"This anti-stab armor is similar to the ones we scavenged before—high-density blended fabric with steel plates covering the front and back. The lower body has leg guards and a groin protector. It's enough to defend against zombies, and production will be quick. We can weave fabric while making the armor plates, then sew them together."

Wu Heng felt the anti-stab armor was a solid idea.

The custom armor ordered from the other world had a long production cycle and was costly.

A simplified version like this would be much faster to make.

"This works too!"

Qiangzi continued explaining more of his wild ideas.

But many were a bit too exaggerated.

The machine-gun wyvern and anti-stab armor seemed the most practical.

After thinking it over, Wu Heng said, "I'll assign you a skeletal wyvern and a skeleton with mechanical skills. Try making the machine-gun wyvern a reality. As for the anti-stab armor, make a prototype first so I can see how it turns out."

"Got it!" Qiangzi was visibly excited, but then he lowered his voice and said, "Boss, you have to talk to Sister Hong first."

"I'll handle it. Stay here for now."

"Alright!" Qiangzi grinned and left happily.

...…

Late at night.

Inside the bedroom.

Li Yanhong tore open the scroll, and a glow seeped into her body.

"It feels like my body is much more agile."

She jumped on the spot a couple of times.

Wu Heng smiled and explained, "You and Qi Hancai used the same type of scroll. Train diligently, and your strength will keep improving."

Hearing that it was the same as Qi Hancai's—

Li Yanhong pouted. "You really don't show any favoritism, huh?"

Qi Hancai chuckled, walked over, and hugged her shoulder. "Alright, sis, I'll remember this. From now on, all the good stuff goes to you first."

"That's not what I meant. I was just teasing him." Li Yanhong grinned.

Then, Qi Hancai whispered something into her ear.

Li Yanhong glanced at Wu Heng suspiciously.

Then, following Qi Hancai, she walked into the bathroom.

Not long after, the bathroom door opened.

The two women stepped out, one after another.

Qi Hancai was dressed in white lingerie, a fluffy chest piece, and had a plush fox tail behind her. Li Yanhong, on the other hand, wore black lace lingerie—semi-transparent, revealing glimpses of skin beneath.

Both looked a little shy.

Qi Hancai hesitated for a moment, then crouched down and softly said, "Meow~."

Li Yanhong's eyes widened in surprise, staring at Qi Hancai, who had suddenly imitated a cat. She cleared her throat and also let out a soft "Meow~."

Wu Heng was momentarily stunned.

He glanced at Qi Hancai's outfit—wasn't she dressed as a fox?

How did this turn into a cat act?

But it didn't matter. He had a real one at home. This little roleplay could add some fun.

"Come here," Wu Heng beckoned.

Li Yanhong walked up, sat sideways on his lap, and kissed him gently.

Qi Hancai crawled over slowly, kneeling in front of him with her arms resting on his thighs.

Wu Heng enjoyed Li Yanhong's enthusiasm while reaching down to stroke Qi Hancai's silky hair.

...…

The next morning.

The convoy and skeleton army assembled at the factory gates.

Once preparations were complete, the convoy set out, flanked by the skeleton army, heading toward the former site of the provincial rescue team.

The mighty army marched forward, soon arriving near their destination.

The convoy remained on standby at the rear while Wu Heng led the skeletons into formation, readying for battle.

Standing in the midst of the skeletons, he waited for a moment.

From a distance, Glenda flew back and reported, "There are a lot of zombies, including an 18th-level Corpse King. It has scars on its body—probably the same one that escaped last time."

"Let me see!" Wu Heng said.

Glenda merged into his body, sharing her vision with him.

The entire area was packed with hordes of zombies.

Unlike the usual wandering undead, they were clustered in formations—though not entirely orderly, it resembled an army.

Inside a partially collapsed building—

A Corpse King appeared, covered in blackened chitinous armor with insect wings sprouting from its back.

Scars from healed wounds were visible on its body.

It must have been the same one the rescue team lured to the base last time before it managed to escape.

Wu Heng released Glenda to continue her aerial patrol.

Then, he gave the order, "Send out the skeletal wyverns. Fly high and commence bombardment."

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

The air was filled with the sound of piercing winds.

Five wyverns soared in formation toward the battlefield.

At the same time, the distant horde of zombies stirred in agitation, sensing the commotion.

Like a boiling cauldron, they surged forward in waves.

A dense rain of iron shells descended upon them.

Thick smoke rose into the air.

Huge swathes of the undead fell under the relentless barrage.

...…

The battle raged on.

Solid iron shells and arrows rained down on the horde like a storm.

The spear formations lowered their stances.

Bracing for the incoming tide of zombies.

"Uncle, the Corpse King is on the move!"

"It's hiding in the horde—seems like it's planning an ambush."

Xiaoxiao and Glenda flew down one after another to warn him.

An ambush!

This Corpse King was quite the tactician.

The provincial rescue team had mentioned that last time, it had stealthily tracked them to their base before launching a nighttime assault with its horde.

Its intelligence was not to be underestimated.

Wu Heng focused his thoughts—[Mirror Image] activated, and three identical illusions of himself appeared.

These weren't real clones, just visual illusions created by magic.

Two illusions vanished.

Only one remained, standing in front of Wu Heng.

Wu Heng pointed to a direction, and the illusion strode off, climbing onto the roof of a wrecked car and gesturing to the skeletons as if issuing commands.

Meanwhile, Wu Heng remained hidden within the skeletal ranks, waiting in silence.

About twenty minutes later—

Whoosh!

A sharp sound split the air.

The Corpse King suddenly appeared from above, its wings flaring as it dived like a hungry predator toward the illusion.

Bang!

A dull thud echoed as the car roof caved in, and the illusion shattered.

The Corpse King's eyes flashed with realization—it spun around and tried to retreat.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

The air whistled as a squadron of massive, winged skeletons emerged from all sides, encircling it completely.

Attempting to escape from here.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh~!

The sound of piercing winds echoed from all directions as a massive number of skeletal creatures with enormous fleshy wings emerged, surrounding it from all sides.
