When Medusa and Aleysia return to Longyearbyen, the house feels strangely peaceful after everything that has happened. The island had been beautiful, and seeing Stheno and Euryale again had reminded Medusa of the life she had once been forced to live on, but returning home makes her realize just how much her existence has changed.
For centuries, she had lived carefully because of Athena's curse. Every red moon brought the same problem. She would have to hide herself away, stay inside a cave, or make sure she never crossed paths with an unsuspecting human who might look into her eyes and turn to stone.
