The sky up above seemed dead, leaving behind a deep, suffocating gray color that weighed heavily on the chest, and it was there that the cause of that destruction resided.

Its entire giant body was covered in thick scale petals of jet-black ebony that glinted coldly. Every single scale was built with terrifying density, to the point that even high-tier magic weapons were guaranteed to shatter upon slamming against that natural armor.
In line with its legendary moniker, the most iconic trait of this ancient dragon was that it possessed only one functioning eye remaining.
That single eye was enormous in size, radiating a glowing, fiery red color combined with sharp golden flashes—an eye filled with ancient, deep hatred toward the gods and mortals alike.
Meanwhile, on the other side of its eye, there remained only a permanently blind, large-scarred socket—the mark of a fatal sword slash left behind by the legendary hero of the past, Albert Waldstein.
As the Black Dragon slowly moved its body, its pair of colossal wings spread wide, blocking the horizon and creating a powerful flap with typhoon-level air pressure capable of flattening rows of stone structures in a single sweep.
Simultaneously with its movement, the atmosphere and the sky surrounding Dragon Valley shifted in color to a suffocating purple.
From deep within its throat, a tremendous roar exploded, splitting the sky and echoing clearly for tens of kilometers in all directions!
"ROOOOOAARRRRRRRRRRRGH!"
The shockwave of that sound was so immense that it caused the continental ground to tremble violently.
The Black Dragon's gaze instantly locked onto Charlie's figure—the only human present at the location without a trace of fear before it.

At the exact same time, swarms of various species of dragon monsters and wyverns surrounding the Black Dragon flapped their wings.
Triggered by the Black Dragon's roar, hundreds of dragon-type monsters flapped their wings in unison, surging and charging from every direction to crush Charlie into splinters!
"I don't have time to entertain small fry like you guys."
Charlie looked expressionlessly at the hundreds of wyverns and dragons surging toward him in bloodlust.
It was a declaration that seemed extraordinarily arrogant at first glance, but for Charlie, he was merely stating a naked fact.
Without wasting any movement, Charlie swung the Sacred Sword Severian for a second time.

As if understanding the insult and feeling provoked to the absolute limit, the Black Dragon opened its giant jaws wide.
Concentrated Mana gathered inside its throat.
The walls of its gullet glowed reddish-gold like the core of an active volcano ready to explode. The pressure of intense heat suddenly skyrocketed, turning the ground underneath into instant magma.
Then, the Black Dragon spewed forth a Dragon Breath—a surging wave of fiery lava whose scale was capable of evaporating flowing rivers and lakes, as well as flattening a mountain in a single pass!
Facing an attack on the scale of a natural disaster, Charlie showed not the slightest intention to dodge or shift from his position.
With an impeccably calm expression, he swung the Sacred Sword Severian in his hand for the third time.

The glowing light of Annihilation split that sea of fire in midair.
Before that apocalyptic disaster had the chance to touch or strike his body, the entire wave of the giant fire breath was instantly erased, leaving behind a silent vacuum of air.

Setting aside the first slash used to destroy Aria's wind seal, the second slash that erased the entire swarm of dragon monsters, and the third slash that neutralized the Dragon Breath, facts proved that Charlie actually required only a single direct attack slash to defeat and bring an end to the legendary One-Eyed Black Dragon!
