The book expounds: Sorcery mostly originates from the innate sense and harmony that powerful creatures feel with the Laws of Heaven and Earth, thereby stimulating and controlling the hidden powers within their own bloodlines or souls, relying more on talent and intuition for its use.
On the other hand, Immortal Law is acquired through the postnatal learning and enlightenment of immortals, who deeply understand the operating principles of the Laws of Heaven and Earth, projecting their own will and immortal power into the myriad things, thereby inducing, controlling, or even changing the power of the laws.
Both can be said to ultimately achieve the same end by different means; they are both uses of "Strength," only differing in realm, method, and degree of control.
Sorcery acts upon oneself, while Immortal Law transforms all things.
