"Ship, Lord Captain, Mr. Lair..." The Magic Guided Conductor was a bit dumbfounded, looking back from the Wind Detector, and dry-mouthed, couldn't make any sound for a moment.
It seemed as if the wind flowing across the deck had swallowed all the noise, leaving only the piercing sound from outside in the lower cabin.
The Captain, wrapped in a coat, stood there without moving.
Lair opened his mouth, barely managing to squeeze out a hoarse sentence: "...Have the Seagull hurry and evade; the intelligence is incorrect... As for the other two guilds, I'll negotiate with them myself..."
"But..."
"No buts," Lair's voice rose sharply, uncharacteristically: "Losing two airships in half an hour, there's nothing more serious than this — at this rate of loss, the other airships won't have the chance to approach. If we continue fighting, we'll all become laughingstocks!"
He paused, his voice softening a bit: "Win or lose."
