Chapter 14 - Unnamed

Different new outlets and their journalists had swamped the entrance. I was caught off guard a little. I turned to the man beside me who was looking at the crowded entrance.

In the history of the Mo Conglomerate, about twelve years since Mo Jinsheng took over as chairman, there has never been a scandal. Who is so bold as to pull this off. I wondered.

We didn't get out of the car. We couldn't actually. It was too crowded. Through the window I could see placards been raised here and there.

I was displeased when I read them

LI CHAIHONG THE MISTRESS GET OUT OF MO CONGLOMERATE

WE WILL BYPASS MO CONGLOMERATE IF WE DONT GET A GOOD ANSWER

LI CHAIHONG LEAVE MO JINSHENG

I was totally pissed. I smiled devilishly. I didn't need to think deeply to know who was playing the cards. They made it too obvious. What a petty girl. She could have at least played a better game. Using public opinion? Blah

Mo Jinsheng's personal body guards lined up Infront of the car. The security group of the company had also taken strategic positions keeping the crowd in place. This protesters are usually the most unreasonable young adults there were in the world. Often times, what they see cloud their judgement.

I stepped confidently out of the car. Accompanied by Mo Jinsheng and his body guards, I walked to the front of the protesters and gossipy journalists. I hate that some journalists make the profession less respectable.

"I thank you all for leaving your important matters for an unimportant personality like me, especially over a ridiculous rumour. I have not had time to go through the news to understand your anger. I'm sorry. I was busy saving my and my husband's life from a gang of mercenaries disguised as a mob of thugs." A long pause.

I saw the reactions I was looking for. The skeptical, the judging the surprise, the thoughtful, the snare... They were all there. The seed of doubt has been sown.

"Mrs. Mo, was the attack serious?"

"What's your name?" I faced the reporter. Gearing up all my acting skills, I summoned a pitiful expression.

"Li Da" the change in her stance was quite obvious.

"Miss Li Da, please look at me carefully. Does it feel faked"

I was confident in that. The disheveled dress, the broken heels, the slight bruises. How can any of those be faked. Unless of course, they were hired journalists.

"No"

"What has that got to do with the matter at hand?" Asked another

"Is this some kind of trick to divert our attention from this matter?"

"Guilty or not. We demand an answer!"

"Yes" the yes was chorused by both protesters and journalists.

There will always be the hired ones. Sigh.

"I, Li Chaihong, am reasonable. I do not have to be a mistress like someone I know crying to the innocent public about a shallow relationship. But if you continue to slander me... I don't know what I might do"

The whole place fell silent. Feeling pleased with the result, I was going to smile when the uproar Started again.

"Mrs Mo is this a way of saying that your position as Mrs Mo was as a result of business dealings"

Must they talk as though they knew all. Hasn't arranged marriage always been a traditional thing?

"Mrs Mo then it must also be true that your grandfather forced Mr.Mo to marry"

"Ridiculous! Can anyone force Mo Jinsheng to do anything?"

This Journalists definitely left their brains at home. Who would say such nonsense just to bring another down. It was like shooting their own feet.

"I'll take one more question before I proceed with mine." I was calmer now, Jin Shishi's soft strategy was too... Annoyingly childish.

"Mrs Mo, does Mr Mo have a lover?"

"Asking me that kind of question is like asking an ape what his behind looks like. How I'm I to know? Should there be a probability of me knowing,do I tell the public about it?"

The reporter must have realised that he had asked a bumb question, he turned and left.

The protesters became agitated again.

"Third wheel"

"Bullying others with power"

"Leave Mo Jinsheng"

Gush! It's frustrating to know that everyone wants me to leave Mo Jinsheng. Did I tell them that I enjoyed staying with him.

"Now, my question is who are we all talking about?"

"...."

Dumbfounded defeated expressions surrounded me.

"Can anyone answer me?"

"Miss...Ehm... Mrs. Mo does this mean this whole thing is.. what I'm trying to ask is if Mrs Mo is not aware of the woman."

"I explained that I have not checked my phone because someone assaulted us on the way. Were you even listening" I looked frustrated and mistreated. It worked.

Even the die hard fans were left speechless.

Jin Shishi please play a better card next time.

I felt a stare penetrating from afar. The person must have out in a lot of effort for I could not ignore them. I looked straight up meeting the familiar eyes of the woman. She was bold enough to come? I applaud her.

"I married Chaihong not out of obligation but respect. I also care about her and she's the closest female to me."

I didn't know when Mo Jinsheng came to stand beside me. He was so close that his special cinnamon smell invade me.

His gaze felt piercing but to others it must be affection. Is he going to demand some compensation for helping? I wondered.

"President Mo is this a confirmation that there's no other female in your life?"

"There's my mother and grandmother" he replied.

What a why of answering. I was sure he wanted to say someone else.

"I will like to tell everyone and Jin Shishi. She's here. There are two kinds of woman in this world. Li Chaihong and others. I will hate to have to repeat myself some other time"

It almost touched me. Every other person was melting.

"I didn't know that such words could flow out of your mouth. I won't say thank you though" I whispered.

He smiled. How charming. His cold demeanor melted a tiny bit.

"Grandma will kill me if this lasts any longer"

"Since everyone is here. I have an announcement to make.

For the latest collaboration of both organisations, we have successfully invited Mo Hong, the most famous Jewellery designer to assist the Li Corporation with the designs"

There was a round of applause and many gasps.

"Thanks for coming all the way" I didn't bother to bow.

"I didn't want to call Jin Shishi out but there will be no next time."

"What does it have to do with me?"

"Oh"
