"Who I am doesn't matter. It looks like you just hit someone?" The man glanced at the slap mark on Zhong Juan's face—it was clear she'd been struck.
Gao Jianshe glared unhappily at the man and said, "This is between me and my wife—what's it got to do with you?"
"You're right, it's not my business. But, as a man, how can you just hit your wife?"
The man's words were forceful. He looked to Zhong Juan and said, "Even if he's your husband, he can't just hit you. You can report him to the Women's Federation. If it's serious enough, you can call the police."
"Who the hell are you? I'm her husband—what's wrong with teaching her a lesson?" As soon as Gao Jianshe heard the man encouraging Zhong Juan to report him, he got annoyed. He pointed at the man and said, "I'm telling you, stay out of our business—or you won't like what happens."
