Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Fed up.

The next day, Paul kept his word and went to see the injured woman, who was the only known survivor of the last attempt to escape the city through the forest.

-She's in here, but let me warn you that it's not a pretty sight.

Wen Lan brought Paul to the injured woman, who turned out to be a girl about Paul's and Anna's age.

The sight was indeed not pretty as she was missing her left hand, from the elbow down, and generally resembled a mummy with all the bandages on her body.

Without wasting any time, Paul diagnosed her injuries and gasped, as they were serious.

-Damn, she's a tough cookie.

Considering all her injuries, it's a miracle that she even managed to get here.

Paul commented, seeing the injuries the girl had suffered.

-Can you heal her?

Wen Lan asked, not liking his commentary at all.

-It'll take a while, but yes, I can heal her.

Paul confirmed and went to work, casting one spell after another, to heal all the different injuries on the patient's body.

The first areas he targeted were her internal organs, which were barely functional, with all the damage they had taken.

This alone took him over an hour to deal with, before he moved to less critical areas, such as all her broken or cracked bones, torn muscles, and tendons, and finally to her damaged skin.

Lastly, he reconstructed her face, which looked like someone struck it with a metal pipe a few times.

Seeing him work made Wen Lan speechless.

She had seen many healers at work, but Paul moved so fast it was terrifying.

The injuries, which would take hours for other healers to treat, were healed within minutes, and as far as she could tell, Paul was paying extra attention to not leave any spot on the girl's body unattended.

-It's almost done, you can remove the bandages from her body. I'll wait outside.

Paul said, six hours later.

By that time, the girl's only remaining injury was the hand that was still missing.

As he said, the man left the house to get some air and clear his mind, as it was more difficult than usual to heal her.

Not wasting any time, the elder called in two other ladies and removed all the bandages, discovering that the girl was nearly fully healed, and no scars were left of her injuries.

-Thank you.

Wen Lan said, going out a few minutes later.

-There is nothing to thank me for, and I'm not done yet.

Paul smiled, seeing her surprised expression.

-I think that she might want to have her hand back when she wakes up.

-You can regenerate a lost limb?

The elder asked, shocked even more than before, as there were not many healers capable of that.

-Yeah, and to be honest, the lady inside is ready to wake up.

The only reason she's still asleep is that I placed a sleeping spell on her.

-Why would you do that?

Wen Lan asked, not understanding his reason for keeping the girl asleep.

-Mostly because it prevents her from feeling the pain, and I think she might panic, seeing a man she never seen before tending to her while all she was wearing were bandages.

Lastly, regenerating her hand will be anything but pleasant, and I think she has suffered enough as it is.

Paul explained, and the elder had to admit that it made a lot of sense.

What surprised her was that he was caring enough to consider such a thing, as she herself ignored such details entirely.

Additionally, she was getting fed up with being surprised by him, since from the moment they met, he managed to shock and surprise every one of the elders and most, if not all, of the other women in the city.

-So, when do you intend to regenerate her hand and wake her up?

Wen Lan asked.

-As soon as she is dressed.

Paul smiled as the elder was surprised once again.

She thought that he would need to take a break to restore his mana.

-Just how talented can you get?

She asked, before she realized she accidentally spoke aloud.

-I have no clue, but I'm sure there are many people as talented as me, or even more, so I'm nothing special.

Paul grinned, seeing her blush, as she had not intended to ask that question aloud.

What's more, his answer made it clear that he didn't see how special he was, and that there might be few to no people as talented as he was in the whole twelve realms.

Thankfully, she was saved from embarrassment by one of the women who was tending to the patient, coming out and informing them that she was dressed already.

-Alright, back to work.

Paul smiled, entering the house again.

The elder followed, after him, wanting to witness the regeneration process.

At first, Paul wanted to simply regrow the limb, but that turned out to be impossible as the wound looked like it was cauterised, so, taking advice from Lord Sei, he went for a different approach.

He took out a piece of cordage and tied it tightly above the stump before using magic to cut off the scarred piece of the girl's arm.

Thanks to the improvised tourniquet and the fact that he immediately cast a healing spell as he was cutting, there was no bleeding.

Once he removed the burnt tissue, the real work started, as now he had to regrow the limb, piece by piece, starting with the bones, followed by nerves, which took a long time.

Next were muscles and tendons along with the blood vessels and mana channels, as the girl turned out to be a mage.

Finally, the hand was once again covered by skinn and even the fingernails were regenerated fully.

By the time he was done, five hours had gone by, but Paul was so focused on his work that he didn't even notice the passage of time.

Neither did he notice the three women in the room who were looking at him with admiration.

In the end, they only heard of regrowing parts of the body in stories, and it was always some mysterious, powerful healer who could do such a thing.

Yet this young man did so in front of them, as if it were nothing.

Now they understood perfectly why he was surrounded by a dozen beauties, and also that with his talents and good looks, he could have hundreds of women, if he so desired, and thousands more lining up to even have a chance to be noticed by him.

In the end, most women in the cultivation realms were taught from a young age that powerful and talented people were the best partners, and landing a man like that, even if you had to share him with others, was the greatest blessing for any woman and her family.

Their thoughts were interrupted by panicked screams of the girl Paul just healed.

-Stay away!

Leave me alone!

She shouted in a panicked voice, while her whole body trembled in uncontrolled fear.

-Ladies, I think, you should take over for now. I'll be outside, if I'm needed.

Paul said and left the room, as he was sure that his presence was the most likely trigger of the patient's panic attack.
