While Paul was making his way out of the stash, the Su clan was in an uproar as their ancestor was attacked and suffered great pain.
Su Yao, who, despite being tens of thousands of years old, looked no older than her late twenties and was extremely beautiful, had been training Maya and Mia personally ever since she learned about their gifts.
She was also very much interested in that man of theirs, since it was extremely unlikely for the three people with these abilities to gather in one place.
As the ancestor of the Su clan, a title which she earned by taking down Lord Sei and helping wipe out his family, she wielded authority which even the patriarch had to respect.
So when she took an interest in the two girls, the whole clan was surprised, as she never trained anyone and spent most of her time cultivating.
It was during one of the training sessions that she felt her soul tablet being destroyed, right before an unimaginable pain assaulted her whole body, making it feel like she was being burned alive.

Both Mia and Maya shouted, seeing her rolling on the ground and screaming in pain.
The two of them were already at the monarch stage of cultivation and proficient with healing spells, so they cast their healing and numbing spells on the woman, but there was no visible effect.
Their screams altered the other clan members, who rushed over to see what was going on.
-What happened here?
The Su clan's patriarch asked, seeing the scene.

Maya answered, still shaken at the scene before her.

Su Yao was in pain for about five minutes before the pain subsided enough for her to lose consciousness, which startled the whole clan.
They immediately transported her to her house and summoned the best healers they could find to try to figure out what was wrong with her.
Mia and Maya were also sent home with orders not to tell anyone outside the family about what just happened.
The two of them were wondering what was going on, and they were not alone in that, as the whole clan was wondering about the same thing.
Yao woke up a few hours later, just as the fifth healer was trying to figure out what was wrong with her, and just as the four before him, he had no clue since her body was intact, and no matter what they did, they could not find any reason for what the Su clansmen described.
-Ancestor, how do you feel?
The Patriarch asked as soon as she opened her eyes.
-I'm fine.
She answered.
-This was an attack on my soul, so healers won't be able to help me.
The woman added, seeing the healer next to her.
Hearing that, the healer excused himself and left after being paid for his efforts.
-Clear the room, I need to speak with the elders.
Yao said when the healer left.
The servants and slaves left hurriedly, not wanting to incur her wrath.
-He is back.
She said as soon as the door closed after the last servant.
-Who is back?
The patriarch asked, not understanding.
-Lord Sei is back, and he knows what I did.
Yao explained.

Her words terrified the elders, as what their clan did to his family was not something that could be forgotten or forgiven.

She ordered, hoping to prevent them from being picked off one by one.
As much as she hated to admit it, she was afraid of this man, and the last time she could kill him only through deception, as in open combat, she was no match for him.
The only chance she saw to take him down was Mia and Maya, who both had the same abilities as him, but it would take years before they were ready to face him, with any chance at victory.
