It scratched in Violet's ears like nails on a chalkboard. She covered her ears. Ezelreth laughed at Violets discomfort. Any amount of unhappiness Violet experienced, even the slightest, brought him joy.
"That's good, let me not waste time, if you work for me, I will gift immortality, to those who are worthy of it."
"Define worthy, DarkChild, if you would?" It was The Maiden who spoke now.
Ezelreth smiled, he liked smart people, as long as they were obedient. The obedient ones could be given grace for smart questions.
