Chapter 212 - C212 : Royal Capital (1)

It was a few days of some of the most pent up traveling that Gazef and his warriors had ever traveled before they arrived in the capital of the Re-Estize kingdom. From the looks of it, there wasn't much of any difference from E-Rantel. However, while Night Silver looked around at everything, one of the men started conversing with Night Silver.

"It's impressive isn't it? The city is so much larger than E-Rantel." He said, with a slightly braggadocious tone of voice. "It's so big, people get lost everyday, but the guards help people find their way."

Night Silver's brow twitched just a slight amount. Does this moron think that's actually something he should be bragging about? Or is he just that hopelessly lost when it comes to conversing with the fairer sex? Either way this is stupid. I've already seen enough of the cities as of now, they're just so… bland, and repetitive. There's next to no individuality.

"I see, so what you're saying is that the guards manage to find, and help everyone return to home, to the place they'd be safe?" She asked, indicating she already knew the answer to that… and so did the warrior on horse back, for he just began stammering.

The Vice-Chief Warrior steadily rode his steed up next to the stammering warrior. "That's enough of that stammering, you hear? People going missing is not something to be proud of." He said making sure his volume wasn't too high, he made it clear as day that he did not want people to know that everyone knew the issues.

"I see, perhaps you should teach the younger ones how to be responsible custodians of their own selves. As an apology for this unpleasant conversation, I want to go somewhere that's not the exact same nonsense. I don't care much for these buildings, I'm sure you understand. Taking nature and turning its beauty into something ugly… shameful."

"I wonder, would you like to see the palace garden?" The Vice-Chief asked.

"A garden?" Her ears wiggled up and down, with a slight blush on their tips.

"Yes, there is the most natural area within the walls of this city. I must admit, it is indeed a refreshing sight. Shall I escort you there while we await your audience with the king?"

"That sounds lovely."

It wasn't much longer when they arrived at the palace gates where the warriors took the horses to the stables, while Night Silver, Nemu, and Carne Village's Chief were escorted by Gazef, and his Vice Chief.

"Lady Nature, I understand this might be annoying, but would you mind holding Nemu through this until the King has met with you, at the very least?" Gazef asked, doing his level best to avoid mentioning the word 'cover' in his question.

"Hmm, I was going to do that anyway. Though, she's only one mouth to feed, and don't even think of asking me to cover my whole chest just because men can't control their own bodies." She replied, picking Nemu up and holding her against her left side in a way that almost made Night Silver's hip act like a small 'seat' or a 'nook'... This inevitably led to no coverage, and Gazef wished he'd been clearer even if it meant a slap.

"Alright then, from here, follow me, and I'll make my report to the king." Gazef's expression wavered slightly knowing that it wouldn't be easy to handle what comes next. "Here's hope there aren't many nobles here this time."

Soon after they all arrived inside the palace halls, it became obvious to everyone in a matter of seconds that there were far more nobles present than originally suspected there would be. As was indicated by the sizable number of knights, and maids, all wearing uniforms that clearly showed off the style of the lord they served. Many gave odd looks towards Night Silver, but none of them bothered to make a move to help what they perceived as a problem. Instead the knights wore their thoughts on their faces, truly disgusting people.

It's people like that which make me question if I should have just taken control over the whole continent instead of leaving it. This place has gone quite far down the drain in only 200 years.

They'd arrived at the room next to the audience hall. This is where the royals would rest during their down time, while also remaining present and able to handle meetings right away. Gazef stopped the party, and knocked on the door.

"Remember, you are not allowed inside this room for now. You must be properly announced first."

"Is this room more or less stuffy than that other hall?" Night Silver asked right at the exact time a maid opened the door to see who it was.

"It's definitely less stuffy in here, miss. And… Sir Gazef, you've returned?"

Gazef nodded, and entered the room with a confident stride, quickly taking note of who was present in the room. To his chagrin, this was one of the incredibly few times where both sons, and only daughter were present along with their father, the king… In short everyone was present. However, he didn't have time to worry about it, because the king just stood up.

"Ah, Gazef, you've returned, welcome back. Come, tell us about the raiders mentioned in that letter. My governor in E-Rantel had some flowery words about you." King Ramposa laughed, finally having a moment of relief to push back the stress. It was almost like he had de-aged a couple years.

"Your Majesty, I can not accept your thanks. If it weren't for my benefactor, I would not have survived that encounter. If it pleases you, they are outside the door right now."

"Well what are you waiting for, I must thank this benefactor for saving my chief warrior's life."

"Then Lady Night Silver will enter the king's presence."

Night Silver walked into the room, with a great big smile, still holding Nemu.

"Ramram, time really hasn't been kind to you has it?" She giggled.

"You're a fine one, how about I make you my woman, you can be my concubine." Barbro declared, standing with a firm slam of his hand upon the poor table.
