Chapter 7 - The Checkpoint

After Glass defeated the boss on the first floor, he appears in a strange building.

—Ahhh, where am I, what the heck is this place? — Glass Said, who was exploring the place, seeing a book that said things to do, along with a pen to write with, and added. —It must be what Voltagen said.

Glass proceeds to jot down the things he has pending:

Find my family Be a rival of Voltagen

This leaf slips between his clothes and sticks to his wrist, becoming tattooed on his forearm.

—But, what the heck! It got stuck on my skin and won't come off. —Glass shouted, trying to remove the things that had become tattooed on his arm. The building moves and becomes a mouth that spits Glass out into some upper-class suburbs.

—Welcome to the checkpoint, Young Glass Ballhead. I will be your escort to your new home. My name is Scout'all. Come, don't be afraid, I don't bite. —Scout'all Said.

—Alright, if you say so. — Glass replied, who followed him to his house, which is just like the one he had when he was with Aliut'em, and added. —Because this house seems familiar to me.

—This is the house where that fateful incident with Aliut'em happened, but this time it's not like that. —Scout'all Answered.

—Are you sure? — Glass replied, who seemed skeptical about entering.

—Yes, but remember that you rejected heaven, so you will have to climb back up again. —Scout'all Answered.

—So, what happened to me with Aliut'em is going to happen to me if I don't climb. — Glass replied.

—Indeed, it all depends on how the tower wants to get you out of the checkpoint or you yourself, it all depends. —Scout'all Answered.

—That gives me a bad feeling. —Glass Responded.

—Don't worry, take this, it's for you. These are your things that you left in the illusion of Aliut'em. Don't keep me too long, as the consequences for not complying with the tower are penalties you can't imagine.—Scout'all Answered, handing him a small case while Glass swallowed his saliva.

—Alright, I will obey the orders imposed on me. —Glass replied fearfully.

—Well then, anything you need, I will be at your disposal. See you later, Glass ballhead. —Scout'all Answered, disappearing from his sight.

Glass enters his house and opens the case that releases all his things.

—That's all, well let me get started on making up for lost time. —Glass Said as he got to work on his figurines.

After a while of working, he decides to take a break to go for a walk. He starts to see the luxurious houses around the suburbs.

—Definitely, the houses around here would make my humble home look like a grain of sand. —Glass Said.

—Well, well, look who we have here, if it isn't my rival Glass Ballhead. —Voltagen Answered, seeing him strolling.

—You are also out for a stroll, Voltagen, how have you been? —Glass Responded.

—Yes, I'm seeing how people's wishes come true. —Voltagen Answered.

—You talk about the mansions around here. —Glass Responded.

—Yes, I can see your house, I imagine it must be the biggest of them all. —Voltagen Answered.

—No, don't hold me in such high regard either, my house is humble. —Glass replied.

—Can I see her? —Voltagen asked.

—Alright, why not. —Glass Responded.

Glass invites him to his house.

—Wow, it's a large three-story house including the attic, simple like the ones in my country. — Voltagen Said.

—Can I come in? — Voltagen Asked.

—Alright, but give me a moment, I have to pick up a few things that are a mess. —Glass Answered.

—Don't worry about it, I'm not complaining about the cleaning, but because you would have it dirty. —Voltagen Answered.

—It's just that I make figurines. —Glass Answered.

—Great, I also want one of myself, not just two of you and me fighting! —Voltagen Exclaimed excitedly.

—Fine, if you say so. —Glass replied as they entered the house, where there was a mess of discarded materials and things everyplace.

—Ah, so it was true that you had a mess at your place. —Voltagen Said.

—Yes, you see it. —Glass replied.

— Alright, organize everything so I don't have to step on something inappropriate. —Voltagen Answered.

—Alright, Voltagen, if you say so. "I'll take care of it. —Glass replied, starting to tidy up the house. Meanwhile, Voltagen starts watching television.

Once it's finished, he shows him his figurine collection and watches him making the figurines of himself and Voltagen with his 3D printers while they wait for the parts to complete.

—While the parts are printing, let's go see your house. —Glass Said.

—Alright, why not, my house is humble too. —Voltagen Answered.

They leave the house and walk for a few kilometers until they reach a Japanese-themed mansion.

—So humble, huh. —Glass Said, seeing the immense entrance door of the Voltagen house gate.

—What, can't someone like me have a Japanese-themed mansion as a home? — Voltagen Exclaimed.

—As you wish, let's go inside. —Glass replied as the door opened with an automatic mechanism.

—It even opens by itself, how humble. —Glass Responded, who sees the immense oriental palace.

—Alright Glass, I admit it, I'm not humble at all. That I can't have luxuries in my other life, I lived in a rundown apartment, and you were surely a rich kid who wanted a house like that or someone simple, who knows. —Voltagen Answered.

—Yes, he was rich and I am also simple. —Glass replied.

—I knew it. —Voltagen Answered.

—Voltagen, we are going to enter your palace, Emperor. —Glass Responded as they entered the place, where statues of Voltagen made of marble, plants, and other durable materials could be seen.

—What a narcissist. —Glass said he feels disgusted by so much narcissism even before entering the palace, which is even worse since there are statues and photographs, frames, picture frames, and trophies of him, and he added. —You are the king of narcissism, Voltagen didn't send me to tell you this thru anyone.

—Yes, I admit it, I adore myself at least in the way I embodied. —Voltagen Said.

—Do you mind if we talk about you, what do you mean by saying you were a loser? —Glass replied as they went to the throne room of the mansion, sitting on a wooden chair and Voltagen on his throne.

Voltagen tells you his life:

I was a mixed martial arts fighter who orchestrated fights to entertain the masses, you understand me.

—But that's not illegal. —Glass Answered.

Yes, they are, but what mattered to me was fighting to bring out all the potential in my opponent while we danced with death in the ring.

—With death, did you perhaps want to kill him or what? —Glass replied.

No, because that would be boring, but being on the edge of it is what I like, I enjoy the fight and I decide who wins and who loses, that's why I love myself because I am my own god of the fight.

—Incredible, but if you like fighting so much, why do you call yourself a loser, saying you don't like winning? —Glass Answered.

Because I like to taste the flavor of defeat, but it's almost impossible due to the rules of this world, but how boring, it would be better if they gave us a life system or something like that, but I imagine it can change as we level up.

—Yes, he is right, just like what happened with the boss on the first floor. —Glass replied.

—Changing the subject, do you want to train a bit to teach you some moves while time passes? —Voltagen Answered.

—Alright, why not. —Glass replied as they headed to the house dojo to train. After several beatings from Voltagen,

—You lack technique, Glass. While you can defend and attack thanks to your powers, if you face someone who knows how to fight, you're going to be in big trouble. —Voltagen Answered.

—Alright, Voltagen, teach me so I don't do so badly. —Glass Responded, who gets up with difficulty after Voltagen's beatings.

A couple of techniques learned later, Glass can barely hold his own against Voltagen.

—Thanks for the moves you taught me, now let's go back to my house because the pieces are ready. —Glass Answered.

They leave the dojo to go to Voltagen's house but are intercepted by a humanoid rabbit who asks for Liam Linderwolf.

—That's me, why do you ask? —Glass Said.

—Follow me, and you too, to the BunnySpawn mansion. Miss Shaltear BunnySpawn wants to see you. —Answered the humanoid rabbit.

—Shall we? —Responded Voltagen.

—It's Charlotte, Voltagen. — Glass exclaimed, who was happy to see a familiar face.

—Charlotte, how many names does she have? —Voltagen exclaimed.

—She is my fiancée from Earth, I'm glad she's okay, let's go see her. —Glass Responded.

The rabbit transforms into a 1930s car to head to Shaltear's mansion. Once they arrive, an army of rabbits armed to the teeth. They feel intimidated until they turn the roundabout that leads them to the mansion door, where the rabbits open the door for Shaltear.

— Charlotte! — Glass shouted as he rushed toward her.

—Liam! —Shaltear shouted as she received him with a hug while he lifted her by the waist. They kiss, but they don't have mouths.

—It's a shame we don't have mouths, well, they only activate when we eat, sometimes I wonder how we talk. —Voltagen Said.

—Telepathy or something like that, even tho we can hear despite not having ears, so it would be a mystery. — Glass Answered.

Answered Come to my house, we'll have a party, darling, for having found you. —Shaltear replied.

—Ohh, perfect, let the party begin. —Glass answered while the rabbits decorated the party house." Glass and Shaltear dance in the ballroom while Voltagen dances with one of the rabbits.

—Oh Liam, it's so good to have you by my side again, I was afraid I wouldn't find you in this vast world. —Shaltear Said.

—Me too, darling, now we can be together forever. —Glass replied.

— My lord, forgive the interruption of your dance of joy, but we haven't found several of our companions who haven't returned from the search for Liam, and they sent you this letter. —Answered a rabbit who was worried about it.

Shaltear opens the letter and reads it very carefully.

—What happened, Shaltear? Any problems?" Glass replied.

—Someone kidnaped my rabbits, I need to get them back. —Responded Shalltear.

—We're going with you. —Glass said.

—This is something between him and me. —Shaltear replied, but Glass took her hand.

—I'm not going to lose you again, I'll go with you, whether you like it or not. —Glass Answered determinedly.

—Alright, but make sure they don't see you. —Shaltear Responded.

—Voltagen, let's go, we have to find Shaltear's rabbits! — Glass exclaimed.

—There will be action. —Voltagen replied.

—Of course. —Glass Answered.

Shaltear ends the party, gets into her limousine along with Glass and Voltagen, who are hiding in the trunk. They head toward the address in the letter, which is a very fine and beautiful estate. The letter instructs him to go toward the big house that is dark.

—Welcome to my humble abode, I am Scythe BunnyHunter and I know who you are. —Scythe said, a hunchbacked being with a rabbit mask, dressed in farmer's clothes, wielding a scythe.

—Who am I to you, Scythe? —Shaltear replied.

—You are Christine Chariot. —Scythe Answered.

—No, I am Charlotte Chariot, her daughter. What matters do you have pending with my mother? —Shaltear replied.

—Perfect, now I can use you as a hostage to get to her. —Scythe Answered.

—Not on my watch, you scoundrel. —Glass Said, interrupting them, but the scythe starts to levitate and subdues Shaltear so she won't make any move or else it'll decapitate her alive.

—Liam! —Shalltear Shouted while holding the scythe near his throat.

—So you are Liam Linderwolf, it's me Clarence. —Scythe replied.

—Clarence! It's you because you look like that. —Glass Answered.

—I don't know, I didn't ask to be this way, but what I do know is that I want to carry out my revenge against your mother. —Scythe replied.

—My goodness! Well, now that you think about it, she deserves it since she has treated you very badly, but you don't have to take it out on me. — Shaltear Answered.

—Yes, your revenge is with her, not with Charlotte, and we haven't even found her yet. You don't have to do this, leave Charlotte alone and we will help you find someone to take revenge on, but don't involve her in this. —Glass replied.

—Thank you, Liam, for that I consider you a friend, but this is personal. —Scythe Answered.

—My God, what a foolish man, I'm going to kick your ass right now. —Shaltear exclaimed, the ground trembling in her throat, a rabbit protecting her, removing the scythe from her neck, and some rabbits emerging from a giant drill that distracted Scythe."

—Ready, let's get out of here. —Voltagen Answered.

—Get ready to receive the beating of your life in this lousy hell. —Shaltear replied.

—Stop right there, fighters! —Scout'all exclaimed, who appeared among them and added. —This place is for peace and tranquility, save your bloodlust for the competition.

—Alright, Scout'all. —They exclaimed, so Shaltear, Voltagen, and Glass return to Shaltear's house along with their rabbits.

—That Clarence, he's going to pay for this. —Shalltear Said.

—Don't take it out on him either. —Glass said.

—I can't believe you're agreeing to hand it over to your mother on a silver platter, Shaltear. —Voltagen Answered.

—My mother mistreated that poor man a lot, if he wants justice, let it not be with me, I wash my hands like Pilate of my mother's actions. —Shaltear replied.

—But she's your mother. I wouldn't let anyone hit my mother for all the things she did wrong, even if she did them wrong, she's my family. —Voltagen Said.

—If you say so, Voltagen, but we are different. I want to take revenge on my mother for everything she made me go thru while she was alive. —Glass Answered.

—But what strange children you are. —Voltagen Responded, consternated.

—Well, let's see how the figurines are doing, we haven't forgotten about them. —Answered Glass.

—I can go, Liam. —Shaltear Said.

—Yes, why not. —Glass answered, so they left in Shaltear's limousine toward Glass's house. They enter the house.

—What a humble house you have, I thot you would want a bigger one. —Shaltear Said.

—Well, it's just that my grandfather instilled a lot of humility in me. —Glass replied, stroking the crystal ball.

—Let's see the figurines you made for me, I can't wait to see them assembled. —Voltagen Answered, who is very excited.

They go to where the printers are, Glass removes the residue with some tools, assembles them, paints them, and places them on a plastic base decorated with battle damage.

—It's beautiful, I will treasure it with great affection. —Voltagen Said that he treasures it with much affection.

—You should make one for me too that symbolizes our love. —Shaltear Answered.

—Don't worry, I'll make as many as you want. I wish this would never end. —Glass replied, hugging them.

Next, the host says a few words:

Attention competitors, very soon the Syphus Ascension will start again so you don't rest on your laurels, especially since we have a new format in which the participants will be managed from then on. Well, that's all from me. Aliet'kill signing off.

—Oh, crap. —Glass and Shaltear exclaimed.

—How great, let's go up then. —Voltagen Exclaimed, who is excited to go up.
