The painful disease originated in Toyama Prefecture of The East Ocean, during the Early Stage of the 20th century, people found that rice in this area generally grew poorly. In 1931, a mysterious illness appeared, mostly affecting women, with symptoms like joint pain in the waist, hands, and feet.
After several years, patients experienced neuralgia and bone pain all over the body, making movement difficult, and even breathing would cause unbearable pain.
In the later stages of the illness, patients' bones softened, shrank, limbs bent, spines deformed, bones became fragile, and even coughing could cause fractures.
Patients could not eat, suffering immense pain, often screaming "It hurts to death!" "It hurts to death!" Some people committed suicide because they couldn't endure the pain.
This disease became known as "Bone Cancer Disease" or "Painful Disease."
Now Hirano Seiko's symptoms resemble this Painful Disease.
