Leo was sitting where she had left him. He stood up the moment he saw her.
"How was it?" Leo asked. His voice was quiet.
"Fine," Bella said.
He looked at her face. Then he opened his arms.
Bella walked into them without a word. She pressed her face against his chest and breathed him in. Leo held her tight. His hand moved slowly up and down her back.
They sat back down together.
The waiting room was busy. Other couples sat around them. Some held hands. Some looked at their phones. Some stared at the floor. Bella looked at them, wondering what they were waiting for.
She leaned her head against Leo's shoulder.
"What if it's positive?" Bella whispered.
Leo was quiet for a moment.
"Then we'll deal with it," Leo said.
"And if it's negative?"
"Then we'll deal with that too."
Bella closed her eyes.
"I'm scared," Bella admitted.
Leo's arm tightened around her.
"Me too," Leo said.
