Leo frowned slightly. "Miss Mystery?"
"Yes! Remember my birthday? The camping trip? Dom said the mysterious woman he likes had a snake tattoo on her wrist and electric blue eyes." Bella's voice rose with excitement. "Hazel has a snake tattoo. And blue eyes. Electric blue eyes, Leo."
Leo was quiet for a moment, processing.
Then:"Oh."
"OH!" Bella grabbed his face between her hands. "Exactly! Oh! It's her! It's been her this whole time! And now—" She let go, spinning around. "Now Hazel's wedding is canceled with that Nicolas guy, they can be together!"
Leo watched his wife spin with an expression of long-suffering affection.
"You're very invested in this," he observed.
"Of course I am! This is beautiful! This is fate!" She stopped spinning and pointed at him. "You should be happy too. Now Dominique has a reason to stick around. You won't lose your favorite assistant."
"He's not my favorite."
"He's your only assistant."
Leo said nothing.
