I can't do any damage against them, their defence stats are too high.

I turned my body flat into the ground, and a tower shield bashes into the wall above me. Without any pause, I crawled back up and drew the sword of the guard the did the shield bash and swung it at an angle, a sword swings from above and barely gets deflected enough to brush and slice through my shoulder pad. Ouch!? The sword got knocked out of my hand with sheer force, it may even have shattered my dominant wrist. Speaking of which I haven't taken a look at my gear, if I had an inventory would it start off with healing potions.
For now I didn't even have the leeway to experiment with a 'magic backpack'. These guys are faster and stronger. Even so I cannot view this battle through the lens of life and death, yes... It's like I'm looking at my avatar in a video game. My heart is eerily calm as I decide what to do next. I couldn't kill them now, but it felt like if I could I'd decide to do it with the same gravity as choosing my breakfast. They deserve it, they are prepared for it, these ominous thoughts barely surface at the very edge of my conscious.
I hop around like a rabbit, though I could keep my body lower since I'm shorter than them, their efforts still push me towards a corner. I even felt a little malnourished. Or maybe I'm imagining it since the stats are so low. I slid around them, back to the guy I stole the sword from, using his body as an obstacle as his comrades swung their swords careful not to hit him. At least they have conscious. They are intelligent beings with values unlike those demons. Unfortunately things must come to an end.
"Skill act-" (Lastia)
"HALT!!! THAT'S ENOUGH!" (?)
A court mage, level 60. Possibly the highest in the kingdom. I'm guessing he's my handler. They understand clearly the distinction that comes from a difference in values and culture, so they needed some method to establish a power dynamic to keep me under control. It felt like something that would have been common in the previous era, even if the level of technology then was the highest in human history. That castle of Arin's alone had integrated so much magic circuitry that it could even fry an average S grade magical girl's brain. Their society was intrinsically involved with magic, pushing absurd advancements into every scientific field with alarming efficiency.
Even then, something still wiped them out. Maybe I can learn the reason from this world. It felt distinct from our on because of the game system, yet I also have a feeling it's very much related to our world.
The court mage walks forward, he was a typical old man in baggy garb, only he wore a monocle outfitted with what seems to be a receiver in his ear and... A microphone in his ear ring. Together they form one suspicious attachment. Nevertheless, I gazed at his eyes scanning for his intentions.
"Are you a higher up? Someone civil enough to solve things with words." (Lastia)
"HOW DARE-" (guard?)
The wised mage holds a palm up, signalling for deference. Then he cranes his worn neck back to me. Upon looking closer, the robe part was only the bottom. The top looked closer to a tuxedo or a business suit, a form of formal wear aligned with his duties in the court. The bottom was a thick coat like waist cape around a pair of trousers. Both top and bottom were a thick cloth like material similar to a gambeson.
"My apologies, hero. Would you like an explanation? Then it's time to stop standing around outside." (Court mage?)
Exchanging words dripped with venom, I followed him deeper into the labyrinthine castle. No matter what time period it is, a castle is built to confuse invaders with numerous branching paths and uniform architecture. Hallways become extensive, stray paths emerge and blind those who aren't guards. Only the soldiers and royal family have the lay of the castle down. As for the reason why they summoned a hero, it's not very difficult to guess. It's usually when humanity gets desperate that they look to hope from another world.
My analysis skill is too low, I can barely see people's stats and level, but I tacitly knew we also had skills. Skills similar in nature to that of a magical girl's, it's likely that everyone has them. Skills aren't such a special thing in this world nor are they unique. At the very least I have analysis and an unused attack skill up my sleeve.
Surrounded on both sides with soldiers, and escorted from the front by that court mage, we soon make it to the heart of this country. Their king is still a young adult, perched upon his throne the youth in his face stands in stark contrast with his subjects... The mere thought of a coup would be lese-majeste, so I discretely hypothesised the violent take over this individual must have done as a I layed my gaze upon him. I expected an old man like their court mage here, and he also didn't have much in the way of combat power, yet he commanded respect.
I showed none of that in my face as I bowed respectfully under his audienceship. Things like that can be dealt with later. For now, I need information and time. If a hero summoned, then there is usually a demon lord to defeat, perhaps even sub bosses like the 4 heavenly kings.
"Raise your head." (king?)
Undoing my bow, I take in the sight of the throne and the one who sits upon it. I knew it at first glance, that he was to be my enemy. Because the only one I serve is Arin.
