Three days later, the Algiers Guard officer Yunus led two thousand of his most elite soldiers, quietly crossing into Tunisian territory.

Muqla only had less than 800 remnants left. As long as Yunus could follow the intelligence and reach his hiding place in time, they could be wiped out completely in two to three days, after which he would quickly withdraw back to Algiers.
