Chapter 14 - Erased..

---

The morning air was unusually quiet.

Golden sunlight spilled across Anny's bedroom, but she remained seated on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the silver pendant resting in her palm.

She hadn't slept.

Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the same silver hall.

The same throne.

The same silver-haired young man.

And the way he had spoken her name...

Not with surprise.

Not with fear.

But with familiarity.

"...Anita Xandra Deshmuck."

She whispered the name to herself.

"Who am I?"

No answer came.

For the first time, she didn't rush downstairs. Instead, she picked up an old family photo from her bedside table.

It showed her, Zedrack, and her mother.

She traced her mother's smiling face with her thumb.

"If my name really isn't Anita Zedrack..."

Her voice cracked.

"...then why would Dad lie to me?"

A knock interrupted her thoughts.

"Miss Anita?"

Abby's voice.

"You'll be late for school."

"I'm coming."

She slipped the pendant beneath her uniform and followed Abby downstairs.

Breakfast

The dining table was unusually lively.

Zedrack was actually home.

He sat at the head of the table reading a newspaper while sipping coffee.

The moment he saw Anny, he smiled.

"Good morning."

"Morning, Dad."

She sat opposite him.

For a few moments, neither spoke.

Normally she would tell him about school.

Today...

She only watched him.

Zedrack noticed.

"Something on my face?"

She hesitated.

Then—

"Dad..."

He lowered his newspaper.

"Yes?"

"...Was I always called Anita Zedrack?"

The smile on his face disappeared for the briefest moment.

So quickly that most people would never have noticed.

But Anny did.

"...Of course."

"You've always been my daughter."

His answer was immediate.

Too immediate.

Before she could ask another question, his phone rang.

He glanced at the screen.

His expression hardened.

"I have to take this."

He walked outside.

Anny watched him through the glass door.

The cheerful businessman she'd always known was gone.

His posture had become tense.

His voice low.

She couldn't hear the conversation.

But she saw one thing clearly.

He looked afraid.

Elsewhere

Deep beneath an abandoned cathedral...

Lorette Xandra Deshmuck stood before hundreds of floating books.

Ancient pages turned by themselves.

Runes drifted through the air like glowing snow.

Her fingers stopped on a single name written in faded silver ink.

XANDRA

The book trembled.

Then—

Its pages burned.

Not with ordinary fire.

With silver flames.

Lorette closed her eyes.

"They're erasing it..."

She clenched her fists.

"Even now."

A voice echoed from the darkness.

"You expected this."

Duckan stepped into the chamber.

Shadows moved around him like living creatures.

"I delayed it."

Lorette didn't look at him.

"I hoped..."

"...she'd have more time."

Duckan's voice remained calm.

"Time has never obeyed hope."

---

School

The morning lessons dragged on.

Mr. Laurent wrote equations across the board.

Students copied them lazily.

Anny couldn't focus.

Her notebook remained blank.

Kiara nudged her.

"You've been acting weird all week."

"I'm okay."

"Liar."

Anny smiled weakly.

Kiara folded her arms.

"You know what your problem is?"

"What?"

"You're trying to carry everything alone."

Anny looked at her friend.

Kiara continued.

"If something's wrong..."

"...tell me."

For a moment...

Anny almost did.

Almost told her about the System.

About the Prince.

About the Dream.

Instead she smiled.

"It's nothing."

Kiara sighed.

"I hate that answer."

The Library

During lunch break, Anny wandered into the old school library.

It was almost empty.

Dust floated lazily through the sunlight.

Rows upon rows of forgotten books filled the room.

She didn't know why she'd come here.

Something...

Had pulled her.

Her pendant grew warm.

One bookshelf suddenly vibrated.

A single old book slid out on its own.

Anny stared.

"...Did that just..."

She picked it up.

The title had almost faded away.

Families Lost to History

Curious, she opened it.

Most pages were blank.

Others had been torn away.

Then...

One page remained.

A single family crest.

Beneath it...

One word.

Xandra

Her heartbeat stopped.

She quickly turned the page.

Blank.

Another page.

Blank.

Then...

Without warning...

The ink began disappearing before her eyes.

Letters dissolved like smoke.

Within seconds...

The page was empty.

Anny stumbled backward.

"No..."

She looked around.

No one had noticed.

Only silence remained.

Then the System appeared.

Anny's breathing became uneven.

"Someone..."

"...is deleting history."

---

Silver Palace

The Silver-Haired Prince stood before an enormous wall covered in ancient names.

Thousands of them.

One name glowed brighter than the others.

XANDRA

Then...

It cracked.

The glowing letters shattered into silver dust.

The Prince stepped forward.

"No..."

He reached toward the wall.

Too late.

The name vanished completely.

His silver eyes narrowed.

"They've started."

---

Far away...

Ezerus sat upon a throne made of black bones.

One of his followers knelt.

"My Lord."

"The first record has disappeared."

Ezerus smiled.

"As expected."

"What are your orders?"

He slowly stood.

The scar across his face seemed darker than ever.

"Erase the rest."

He looked toward the Mortal Realm.

"But..."

He smiled wider.

"Leave one."

The follower hesitated.

"Which one?"

Ezerus's crimson eyes glowed.

"...Anita."
