Wufu's fever persisted, and even if it slightly subsided, it quickly flared up again. Over two days, it had worn everyone thin, and the one lying on the bed had visibly grown thinner, her face just the size of a palm, pitifully small amidst a heap of black hair.
Ah Jiu personally held Wufu for her bath, murmuring softly, "You should wake up. Little Bun cries every day without seeing you. If you don't wake up soon, he won't recognize you anymore."
With his forehead pressed to hers, Ah Jiu used a white bath towel and gently dabbed water onto her back, seeing the scars all over. His tears fell onto her back, blending with the water.
Sniffing, Ah Jiu continued, "The little guy is a bit picky. Found him a wet nurse, but he wouldn't take her, so I took him to Aunt for feeding. Luckily, he didn't mind his great-aunt, or else he'd have starved miserably."
