Rui Kun raised his hand to rub his temples.
"What the hell is the point of a DNA test? Even if it comes back, the boss will be the first to deny it! We've been running around for nothing these days!"
"But I told Jian Xi the results would be out in three days. The equipment can't be broken forever, we have to give her results eventually."
Nan Mufeng pressed his thin lips together, the cold curve of them carrying a long-standing hurt.
"Besides, there are other places that can do DNA testing, not just our hospital..."
"Then tell her the two results are the same!" Nan Mufeng said.
"What!" Rui Kun jumped up in shock, "You want me to forge the report?"
"Yes." Nan Mufeng nodded, turning to stand by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the distant scenery.
The building was tall, the windows vast. From Rui Kun's angle, Nan Mufeng stood with hands behind his back like a black silhouette embedded in the blue skies, white clouds, and daylight.
