They returned back from the hospital after some days with Mrs Gu smiling and hold Lorah's baby in her arms.
" You're not planning on nursing him, are you?" Her husband asked with a raised brow as he stared at her. " Why not! He's my child!" She spoke possessively, clearly loud enough to make Lorah shiver and rub her arms.
" He needs to be with his mother and you know it, you have never had a child before " Mr. Gu said the fact that hurt his wife's feelings yet he was so against what ever she was doing and planing, he didn't want to be part of her craziness.
" Hahaha! I am his mother honey, he's my child, my son! No one would want to dare me or love to be on my bad side…. Because, I would kill everyone! I swear it" she said sternly to both of them before she claimed up the stairs, humming a song to the baby.
Mr. Gu turned to Lorah who looked like her world was crumbling right in front of her and she can't do anything. " Are you okay? You should go inside and rest and don't worry okay…..I need you to trust me Lorah " he said to her and she blinked at him, how was she supposed to be okay, the pain she was feeling now was more than her labor some days ago and she had no idea how to rest when her baby was crying upstairs, she was worried and did not want to trust anyone….anymore!
Lorah stayed up all night, sleep had left her and all she could hear and feel was her baby's cry, her madam was trying to help the baby calm down or even sleep yet he still cried painfully and sorrowfully. She felt pain in her chest as her tears just couldn't stop and everything within her told her to go to her baby and then she heard a knock on her door.
She thought it was imaginary but it came again and she hurriedly opened the door to see Mr. Gu standing there holding her baby in his arms gently covered and she cried again, opening her arms to take the baby, her master stared at her before giving her the baby who quickly recognized her scent and stayed calm.
" B-but madam…." She spoke, her voice breaking because she had been crying. He came inside her room and Lorah followed holding her baby carefully as she nursed him while pacing in the room. " That should not be your worry, he's your child and you will always be his mother, never forget that "he said to her before leaving them.
For the next months the baby stayed with Lorah at night and in the daytime he was with the madam and Lorah was only called when he cried.
Years came by and Gen- Shouyen had grown into a lovely boy with reddish brown hair and baby blue eyes resembling his father and the one heir of the Gu family. He was cute and didn't talk much but loved his family, his father was always hard on him so he would be strong at all times.
Mrs. Gu came out sweating as she tried to climb the stairs to the top floor, getting to her room she panted as tears came down rushing down her cheeks as she held the edge of the bed for support. She wondered how long she had been fooled by those two, she admitted she was at fault yet how could they go on with her not noticing for seven years !
She grabbed a traveler and packed a few of her things including jewels and bags, she just took what she could carry because of her condition. She entered into the room of Shouyen and took a few of his, she cried hard when the innocent boy stared up at her, with his beautiful eyes and he asked why she was crying. She shook her head and cleaned her face with the back of her hand before she carried him out of the room.
" Madam! Please…. Don't do this, master is not at fault, I- I was greedy I wanted to be with him please, please " Lorah rushed to her and held on her madam's leg, she was crying too, she looked miserable and Shouyen felt bad. Mrs. Gu pulled her leg strongly from her grip and Lorah fell to the floor her sobs echoed through out the house. " you whore!" The madam growled and put the boy in her arms down, she glared at the maid with pure hatred before she moved away still holding the hand of the boy who looked like he was being dragged.
Her husband joined Lorah to stop the two from Leaving yet the madam struggled with them, her protruding belly making it hard for her to get away from her husband and maid yet she was struggling. She slipped, breaking her ankle in the process and fell, rolling over the stairs along with Shouyen. Both laid on the floor unconscious as screams filled the hall, Mr. Gu came to check on his wife and child while Lorah shivered, her hands sweated in pure fear as she tried to dial for help, occasionally looking at her unconscious son beside her pregnant madam.
