Chapter 640 - Chapter 640: The MK-3 Combat Suit in Action

The rain poured harder and harder as everyone anxiously awaited William's orders. Suddenly, Sunday reported, "Sir, the detection devices have identified two werewolves."

Sunday displayed the locations of the werewolves on William's smart glasses and on the helmet displays of everyone equipped with MK-3 Combat Suits.

On the surveillance feed, the two werewolves were seen following Michael Corvinus with grim expressions as he headed toward the subway station.

Standing beside William, Barney remarked, "Looks like their target is indeed a descendant of the Corvinus family."

"Not surprising," William replied. "Sunday's research has uncovered that many descendants of the Corvinus family have mysteriously disappeared over the past decade.

"It seems that despite being suppressed by vampires, werewolves haven't been idle. They've been desperately searching for ways to enhance their abilities.

"Unlike those drunken, hedonistic vampires who've made no progress for centuries, these mutts are always scheming."

After William finished speaking, the feed shifted to an exterior view of Greens Station. Perched atop a Gothic-style marble building was a strikingly beautiful woman with shoulder-length hair, dressed in a long black leather coat and tight leather armor. Her face was exquisite, radiating an almost otherworldly beauty.

Caught off guard, William murmured softly, "Selene."

"Boss?" Barney said, breaking William's moment of reverie. Seeing William so captivated by the woman on screen, Barney reminded him, "Boss, I need to point out that this woman doesn't look human. She's probably one of the vampire death squad members that Sunday mentioned."

"Hmm," William sighed, snapping out of it. "Such a pity. A woman this beautiful, and she's a vampire."

Not far away, Christmas threw up his hands in exasperation and made a hand gesture to the rest of the team, pointing at William's back. "See? I told you this would happen."

Gunnar and the others shrugged, giving him a you just figured that out? look.

Meanwhile, on the screen, Selene nodded at a nearby vampire. The two of them then leaped gracefully from the 10-meter-high building.

They landed effortlessly on the ground and followed the werewolves into the subway station.

A few minutes later, the sounds of an intense gunfight erupted from inside the station.

William deliberately waited for about thirty seconds. When he saw a crowd of panicked civilians stumbling and fleeing from the subway station, he finally issued the command.

"Eggsy, move in. Now."

"Understood, sir!" Eggsy, who had been chomping at the bit, enthusiastically fist-bumped Wesley and shouted, "It's our turn, boys. Let's kill them all!"

Wesley, sharing Eggsy's flair for dramatics, raised his hand and echoed, "Kill them all!"

When the truck's rear doors opened automatically, Eggsy, the designated striker, called out, "Activate the armor."

"Full power activated," Sunday confirmed.

As soon as Sunday finished speaking, the MK-3 suits worn by Eggsy, Wesley, and Laura lit up with a blue glow from the visors, chest plates, and limbs.

Feeling as if his body had become significantly lighter, Eggsy glanced at the rotary machine guns mounted on his wrists, patted the ammo pack on his back, and touched the modified USP pistols and knives strapped to his thighs.

He then playfully bumped his helmet with his fist and shouted, "Let's do this!" Nodding to Laura, he crouched slightly, then launched himself out of the truck with a powerful jump, covering a distance of over ten meters as he sped toward the subway station.

Following closely behind him were Laura, whose armor appeared more slender, and Wesley.

The three of them covered the 100-meter distance to the station in just five or six seconds.

Inside the station, the vampires and werewolves locked in combat were startled by the sudden arrival of three blue-glowing figures.

Before the two werewolves could react, Eggsy raised his hands. Assisted by the suit's auto-targeting system, he unleashed a barrage of fire from his rotary machine guns.

Rat-tat-tat! Rat-tat-tat!

A hail of nano-silver bullets riddled the two werewolves, causing their bodies to shudder violently before collapsing to the ground, each hit by seven or eight bullets.

"Freeze!"

Selene, who had just raised her gun toward Eggsy, suddenly found herself staring at the muzzle of another weapon. A sleek silver combat suit stood before her, with Laura pointing her gun directly at her.

At the same time, Wesley appeared in front of another vampire, leveling his weapon at him.

Seeing their guns and the obvious silver coating on their armor—something she was highly allergic to—Selene instinctively raised a hand to shield her eyes from the glare.

"According to Article Two of the Supernatural Accord," Laura declared sternly, "no supernatural beings are allowed to engage in combat in public spaces. You are under arrest, Vampire."

Selene, who had been freely hunting werewolves for over 200 years without restraint, was momentarily stunned by Laura's words.

She was about to make her move when she caught sight of the two werewolves who had just been shot. As they began to transform, large patches of blue veins appeared on their bodies, and the areas where they had been shot began oozing liquid silver.

Selene turned her astonished gaze to Laura and asked, "Liquid silver that acts directly on the bloodstream?"

Laura didn't respond. Instead, she watched as Eggsy checked on Michael Corvinus, who had been hit by a stray bullet.

When Eggsy shook his head, signaling that Michael was uninjured, Laura let out a sigh of relief—at least they wouldn't have to take him down themselves.

Finally, she turned back to Selene and answered, "Yes."

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out from Wesley's direction. The vampire he was holding at gunpoint let out a guttural scream and collapsed, his veins bulging with blue as his fangs quickly retracted.

"Stop!" Selene raised her gun toward Wesley but hesitated. Glancing at Wesley's armor and then at her own handgun, she lowered it again in frustration.

The vampire Wesley had shot, though over 100 years old, was still in excruciating pain from the silver. While it wouldn't kill him immediately like ultraviolet rounds would, the silver coursing through his bloodstream had effectively rendered him useless.

"Your target is the werewolves!" Selene shouted angrily. "Not playing cops and robbers with vampires! Forget us and go find the werewolf den!"

Hearing Merlin's voice berating them over the comms, Eggsy, Laura, and Wesley reluctantly holstered their weapons and replied with a disgruntled, "Understood, sir."

"Let's go, Wesley. We've got work to do," Eggsy said as he gestured for the others to follow him. The three of them quickly left Selene behind, kicking off the ground and racing along the subway tracks toward the tunnels.

Watching the three sci-fi-like figures, who moved at speeds of 30 to 40 meters per second, vanish into the distance, Selene let out a breath of relief. Hearing her injured companion groaning in pain, she quickly knelt down, biting into her wrist to let blood flow into his mouth.

"Hold on, Nas. I'll get you back to the estate for treatment," she said softly.

After drinking some blood, Nas regained a small amount of strength and nodded weakly.

Supporting him, Selene carried him toward the subway entrance. As they reached the turnstiles, they encountered a group of heavily armed men in black combat suits descending the stairs. Each wore full-enclosure black helmets and chest armor.

The group began stopping civilians who had witnessed the earlier events. One by one, they used a silver cylindrical device slightly larger than a pen to emit a flash of light in their faces.

"Forget everything you just saw. Leave the subway station now, take a bus home, and get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow, everything will be back to normal."

The civilians, their memories wiped by the flash, nodded blankly and obediently left the station, boarding buses to return home.
