As the elevator slowly ascended, Whitney began her explanation in a calm, practiced tone, like she'd given this tour a hundred times before.
"The first floor is mainly the lobby," she said. "The second and third floors are for training and sports, respectively."
The elevator let out a soft ding as it stopped, and the doors slid open to reveal the third floor. I followed closely behind her, my eyes immediately scanning the wide open space. Various training equipment lined the walls, and I could hear the distant sounds of movement—footsteps, grunts, and the occasional metallic clang. Just stepping onto the floor made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a professional arena.
"As you can see," Whitney continued as we stepped back into the elevator, "from here up to the fifth floor are occupied by regular workers—analysts, coordinators, logistics, that sort of thing."
She pressed another button, and the elevator hummed upward again.
