Duran stood up quickly from his office chair when he saw Lian Xinying and walked over.
"Sit," Duran said politely, then sat down on the sofa in the reception area.
Lian Xinying was carrying a bag with gifts she bought from D Country.
"These are some local specialties I bought abroad." Lian Xinying placed the gifts on the coffee table and pushed them towards Duran.
Duran beamed with joy, "You didn't forget me, I'm very touched."
"Just a small token, no need to be so polite," Lian Xinying replied courteously.
After accepting the gift, Duran asked, "Would you like something to drink?"
"Just some warm water would be fine." Lian Xinying felt a bit restrained in this setting.
Duran nodded and personally poured her some water.
"Your mother also liked to drink plain water. I was influenced by her."
