Moments before Shirogane's exhaustion...
The marble coloured golem watched as his subordinates, Nayat's soldiers fell one by one to the allies of Iceurn city.
"So I guess that's why I was told to come here, to turn the battle in our favour once again" Chrysalis grasped a hold of a glass vial, a pinkish liquid flowing inside.
Icy remains of a blade scattered into the air, only for a unexpected warrior to return.
Roman, the crazed defender and the final warrior of a long forgotten peaceful age.
"I failed my city once before I won't fail this time as this..., is my redemption" Roman smashed his own blade only to reforge them out of meteorite.
"I can only guess that you're the brains behind the drugs that have been invading my city time and time again" Roman slashed through the air as Chrysalis smashed his vials onto the ground hoping to dose the giant before him.
"Your not gonna let me infect you are you?, well no matter I am a Geode after all" Chrysalis smashed the purple coloured crystals scattered around his body.
And as the crystals shattered a violet smoke drifted into the darkness of space.
Roman threw himself into the smoke without any concern for its purpose, only for his skin to turn violet.
"A little shock and people are stunned for at the very least a moment which is all I need" Chrysalis poured the drug known as Accel into the cracks of the giant's skin.
"And now all I have to do is watch as the disease rapidly kills you by exploding inside your lungs, a weakness we Geodes don't share" Chrysalis raised a chair made of ice out of Saturn's rings.
And as he watched Roman fell to his knees, his hearing all but faded away.
"Oh would you look at that your eyes, maybe I'll have to extract them..., after you're dead of course" Chrysalis stared upon Roman whose eyes had turned into amethyst.
"It truly is amazing to see the effects of this disease take effect so rapidly, perhaps I should recreate these effects in my next drug" the chair of ice smashed as Chrysalis strolled towards the defeated defender.
"Have I failed once again?".
"I can feel my lungs being torn apart, this is it isn't it?".
"No!, all I must do is kill this monster and I will have served my city well enough to die peacefully, If not for my redemption then for all those I failed so long ago, for those I called my comrades" Roman used the ice beneath his feet to support his collapsed body.
And as he rose, an army of frozen blades tore themselves from the ring only to thrust forwards.
Each and every one failed and as Roman's insides began to crystalise a new blade appeared but this time beneath the rings.
Smashing through each layer the final hope, the final blade struck the Geode splitting his body in two.
And with that final strike, the final defender of a forgotten army passed away but not just this warrior as the inventor of the forgotten army's failure had also met his end although swifter then he deserved.
