How many years has it been already? Maybe a year or two.. Soulen wasnt sure anymore. All she knew was that she had been following the horde for that long. And she knew her humanity had dropped quite a lot. Her journey for the time had been interesting to say the least. She had met different kinds of people. And each and everyone one of them died. It wasnt an exaggeration to say she had done majority of the damage to the few settlements the horde had come across. around 4 major settlements have been destroyed by the horde she currently was part of. and around 10 small bases had been completely broken.
She had eventually been given her own unique mutant name. The Revent Queen, a name she had come to accept subconsciously. one of her own creations had also gotten their own names. Snow got his one unique mutant name as Snow monkey due to how he moved and the snow colour of his hair.
The horde had reduced each time they attacked but after a few weeks, the horde would grow again. and the one who was leading it each time was Soulen herself. She couldnt see the world the normal way she usually could. Everything had grayed out and only certain colours were present. Red meant enemies. Blue meant her own creation. White meant the infected. And Gray meant Mutants among the infected. And for a year or so, this was all she could see.
Soulen was currently resting in one of the bases they had moved towards, her hair now longer, reaching her knee while her clothing was stained in dried crimson red and dirty. Her skin looked rough and dirty, loosing its rather smooth look. yet she still remained beautiful despite her murderous attacks. The flower on her shoulder had gone now, instead, at the center of her chest; above her bosom was a bluish pulsing mold and the veins from it grew towards her neck, shoulder and down her side to her tummy. she seemed to have change again. put on some proper clothing and she would look like a human at first glance.
As she woke up, her gaze lingered on the ground longer than usual and that was because of the dreams she seemed to be having recently. She would find herself in what looked like a destroyed base with corpse all around and the screams and sorrows of the people she had slayed curse out to her. All of their faces were blurred and mostly just red in color in front of her eyes. However, there was one single Yellow color that would watch her in the distance. then it became three. then five. then 7- All staring with weapons in their hands.
And the emotions she could feel at that moment was both sadness and anger.
It was something she couldn't understand no matter how much she thought about it. And it definitely pissed her off a lot. Regardless, it was another night for another hunt. She simply got up and walked outside before giving a loud roar to get the infected horde's attention. Once everyone had gathered, they turned towards the exit and began to walk once again. To their new location.

After what felt like hours, they finally could see the structures slowly rise within the distance. It was a human base known as the Blade Hunters branching outpost. It was a decent sized outpost where what she believed was a place they did trades with other settlements and camps. A perfect place for the horde.
Soulen could be seen standing on a tree's branch, staring at the main entrance where armored cars were driving in and being inspected. Snow, Virgil and Vira stood beside her before she growled at them.
It was time.
She turned to look at one of the mutants that had joined their horde. it was a similar mutant that injured her when she was once a human and made the risky journey to the military outpost years ago. The Colossal Arms Mutant. It growled behind Soulen as she nudged her head to the entrance of the outpost where it grunted then walked passed her.
Two Iron Arm mutants walk forward with Colossal as they charged up the missile launchers on their shoulder while Colossal itself dug into the ground to create a large boulder to hold.
Not long the giant boulder and four missiles were sent flying towards the entrance where a loud explosion had erupted.
Soulen and her group ran forward, Killing the confused mercenary soldiers before they could process what was going on. Then jumped to the roof of the base gate itself.
The inside was packed with people aside from soldiers. she could tell because most held guns, few held nothing. But that didnt matter, they would all die here today.
With a loud roar and growl, Soulen's voice became known and alarm bells began to ring. People panicked, screams of despair rolled in as the infected horde rushed into the broken gates and began the massacre. Vira, Snow and Virgil as well joined in. where snow summoned two extra arms an grabbed the four katana's on his hip. Virgil had bone wings coming out from his back and vira had the vines wrapped around her body, blocking certain exits with the thick vines.
Gun shots could be heard flying through the air and bodies were dropping. Both Humans and infected. The mutants did good work on the human's vehicles and Guns but were also being heavily damaged as time went on.
Soulen simply stood at the top of the gate and watched the chaos unfold. one that had already taken 20mins since the hordes ran inside. Blood screams and chaos filled the air. It was a bloodbath. and both sides were taking equally heavy losses. This might actually be their most brutal and their most destructive invasion since a year ago.
And just like usual, all she could see was the same red colors of people and a darker shade of red when they die. However, after a while. a yellow color came into view. In fact, three orange colored humanoid things were seen. And they were easily defeating the infected that ran towards them.
Soulen decided to step in herself; jumping down from the giant entrance gate and running towards their direction. As she got close, she went straight after the first one, a female it seems due to the shape of the person and the orange colored hair that blew forward when they collided. She swore she heard someone call out to the woman she had collided her claws with but the words ringing in her head was merely to kill everything in sight.
The orange colored female jumped back after she deflected the claw attack. Soulen proceeded to chase instantly without giving her room to breath. and so a beautiful yet deadly dance of attacks began. With each swing of her Soulen's sharp claws, the female responded with a skillful dance of deflection.
No one dared to get close, and does unfortunate to enter their path would die to either the blade or Soulen's claw
It was a battle of attrition, the one who had more stamina would have the upper-hand. And it wasn't long before an opening for Soulen was given. The female's reaction had gotten slower, after all, all she could do was defend against Soulen's quick attacks. And when that opening was seen by Soulen, she instantly jabbed her the female's side with her claw, causing her to groan in pain and spit out blood. Next was a kick to the same spot which sent her flying
She tumbled to her side but quickly got up as she held the part she was stabbed with one hand. Soulen simply smiled with sharp teethes in view. the four infected dropped down beside her before running towards the female.
With a desperate mind for survival, she gripped the sword in hand tightly and sliced the first one that came then kicked the second one on the chest and stabbed it on the head. As the third one came, she jumped back and cleanly sliced its head off before getting grabbed by the fourth one from behind. she quickly slammed the back of her head on its own before slicing the infected into two.
She had made one mistake though and by the time she realized it, Soulen had gotten close to her and instantly grabbed her by the throat before slamming her into the wall of a nearby building so hard the wall cracked on impact.
The female was definitely bleeding with a few broken bones and ribs. no human would come unscared from an impact that hard on a building. Soulen simply stared at the glowing orange woman in her hand, a crazed smile on her face as the female weakly grabbed at Soulen's wrist.
Soulen felt it, for some reason during their exchanges earlier, this woman didn't want to kill her. she held back almost every time. She was a skilled hunter that would have put Soulen in normal trouble, but she felt distracted. That didn't concern her though, That mistake was going to make her die tonight.
As Soulen raised her free hand, the ground beside her cracked open and out came the vines she usually controls. It grew upward before twisting around Soulen and then pointed towards the female's head ready to pierce it. That was when the female finally spoke. Or maybe she had been speaking since but Soulen couldn't hear it. But this one...
This one, she heard it loud and clear.
"S....Soulen....I'm.....I'm really.....really sorry...." she muttered weakly, her grip on Soulen's hand desperately trying to get herself free. At this point, Soulen was taken aback when the woman called her name.
"....I couldn't save you...I...couldn't do.... anything....Back then....I..I.... just watched you.... run... I'm so sorry..." she said as what felt like tears fell on Soulen's arm.
But this was enough to shake soulen. She instantly blinked as something sparked within her mind. She grunted as she held her head. then released her grip on the female as she placed both hands on her head and screamed in pain while the vine she had summoned began thrashing around in a frenzy. Soulen screamed as she struggled. the vines on her body slowly retracting and her skin color changing from a shade of blue to the usual pale skin she had when she first changed. Her sharp teethes slowly retracted to a much less terrifying sight and the colour in her eyes slowly changed from a Bright blue to a calm cyan glow. Specifically her left eye. Her right eye slowly returned to her usual brown eyes.
Once she had calmed down from the mental breakdown, the infection control reduced in her system and forgotten memories flooding into her mind, she heaved a heavy sigh before turning to the woman from earlier.
At this point, the color in the world had returned and she could finally see the woman who was holding her side weakly on the ground, her eyes widened in shock as her dried up tears were visible while her body was a bloody mess. Soulen herself had tears running down her cheeks as she lowered her hand from her head and stared at the woman. Then a name resurfaced in her mind which she subconsciously said out loud.
"....C....Ca....Ss...ei....?"
