As the story goes, the old Ye saw off Shen Jiayin and her group as they left first. As Zhang Chengjiang walked back to the house with him, he quietly said, "Sir, do you know what the names of her family members are?"
Zhang Chengjiang brought up this suspicion, thinking that old Ye must have gone through Shen Jiayin's files and couldn't possibly not know. That would also explain why he was particularly kind to Shen Jiayin. Furthermore, old Ye was the first one to suggest spending his later years here, allegedly because he missed his old guard, which seemed too simplistic and conveniently coincidental. Zhang Chengjiang wouldn't believe such a fortuitous explanation.
