Theo doesn't seem to respond to this. He seems to be deep in his thoughts. The general doesn't want to rush things up, so he decided to give Theo some time to think.
"Well, Private Theo Smith, you can think about it in the meantime," he said as he got up from his seat.
"I'll give you some time to think about it, don't worry. But I hope that your answer will be plausible for both of us. I'll be waiting. Now, excuse me," General Robert leaves the tent after he excuses himself. Theo couldn't say anything, but it's not like he has anything to say in the first place.

General Robert has been waiting for an answer for almost two weeks now. He didn't visit Theo in between that time to give Theo some space, but maybe he made a mistake by not approaching Theo more.
'Should I have visited him often? Maybe that could actually bring him to my side on the two-way battle..' he sighs as he drowns in his own thought. He really wishes for Theo to join him so that he can finally battle the higher-ups and end the war that has been going on for so long.
He keeps on staring at the document about Theo that was provided by the Southern Regiment.
'Even they don't know much about him, huh? How mysterious,' the general could not find anything other than his family, which had been killed by the Mashitilk. There's no reason stated for him to join the military, either.
General Robert feels like he needs to know the reason why Theo joined the military; maybe he can help Theo with it. This is one thing, and he still hasn't called out those bloodsucking pests for their action yet.
In order to do that, he needs to have a stronger unit under him. The higher up won't be on his side, obviously, so he needs a loyal commander under him. The one who can command a whole unit on every battlefield that lies ahead.
The general feels an oddly familiar presence outside of the tent and immediately hides the documents about Theo. He waits until that person enters. His guess was right, it's Theo himself. The time of the glorious trick of the higher up will end sooner than he thought.
"Well, Private Theo Smith, you come to visit me by yourself? I was planning on visiting you. Looks like you can finally move around now," the general plays dumb on Theo's presence. He knows why Theo is there, but it seems to be more fascinating to play around for him.
Theo's eyes narrow at the general's demeanor. He didn't expect anything more from the general, anyway.
"I'm here to accept your proposal, sir." He finally comes out with his decision, and the general just smiles at him.
The time has come, it seems. The end of the 100 year-war is near, and the general is sure of it. He knows the key to the end, and the key is right here in front of him.
