As a municipal Party secretary, you can't say Du Wenfeng's rank isn't respectable—there's no way you could say that. Otherwise the governor of Yun Province wouldn't have appointed him to handle Huo Sining's case, which shows he really values this subordinate and thinks his rank is more than sufficient.
But to Huo Sining, he was really nothing special.
Mainly because over these years, Huo Sining has met plenty of people far above Du Wenfeng's level.
When she got married, the lowest-ranking guests were at vice-ministerial level; even one of Chief Lu's secretaries was a full department-level official. She'd seen so many of them that Huo Sining had long since gotten used to it.
Still, with Du Wenfeng putting on such a humble posture in front of her, Huo Sining wasn't the kind of person who didn't know how to read the room; naturally she wasn't going to really stomp him into the mud.
