"What else did the old lady say?" Lady Zhang asked eagerly.
"She probably didn't say anything nice," Lian Manman replied. "Mom, I think you shouldn't ask, or else you'll just get upset knowing."
"I won't be upset," Lady Zhang said. "I know the kind of person she is and the kind of things she says. It's been so many years, is there anything I can't guess? Yeye, tell me what you heard, I'll just listen for fun."
Lian Manman glanced at Lady Zhang, knowing she was telling the truth. Although hearing what harsh things Lady Zhou said might unsettle Lady Zhang, that discomfort would quickly dissipate.
